Providing funding, support, and scholarships for Bishop Kelly High School since 1976.

Fifty years. One very familiar smile.

Since 1976, the Bishop Kelly Foundation has existed for one reason: to make a Bishop Kelly education possible for the students who belong here. Five decades later, what that looks like hasn't really changed.

It looks like a senior finding out her scholarship came through. A mom in the stands who never thought this was in reach. A donor at the back of the room who quietly made it happen and never asked for the credit.

Every face in this collage is part of that story — students, parents, alumni, volunteers and the people who keep showing up year after year.

Fifty years of Knights. Fifty years of smiles. Thank you for every single one of them.

Behind every Knight is a community that said yes.

In 1976, Father James R. “Reg” Wilson and thirteen Boise community members — seven Catholic, six not — believed a Bishop Kelly education was worth protecting. They built the Foundation for a simple reason: so a student’s future would never depend on a family’s finances.

“Faithful stewardship. Real lives. Lasting impact.”

Fifty years later, that promise still holds. Foundation scholarships and grants reach more than a quarter of BK families, and every Knight — aided or not — learns in classrooms, chapels, and on fields the Foundation helps sustain.

These aren’t line items on a budget. They’re first-generation graduates, families who thought Catholic education was out of reach, teachers who stayed, and doors that stayed open — for fifty years, and counting.

Please join us in welcoming Maurissa Fisher to the Bishop Kelly Foundation as our new Foundation Event Coordinator! 💙💛

Maurissa brings more than 20 years of experience in fundraising, event management, and relationship building, along with a deep commitment to Catholic education. From creating meaningful donor experiences at Mount Angel Abbey & Seminary to serving as an educator and volunteer at St. Mark's Catholic School, her work has always centered on building community and advancing mission.

For Maurissa, this role is especially meaningful. She and her husband, Nick, are lifelong products of Catholic education, and after moving to Boise, they found a home in the Bishop Kelly community. They've experienced the impact of a BK education firsthand through their son Nicholas, now a senior, and are grateful to give back to the school that has given so much to their family.

As our Foundation Event Coordinator, Maurissa will help create memorable experiences that bring our community together and inspire support for the Bishop Kelly Foundation's mission. We're excited for the passion, hospitality, and heart she brings to this role.

Welcome to the Foundation team, Maurissa! We are so glad you're here.

50 Years of Impact. Generations of Knights.

In 2026, the Bishop Kelly Foundation celebrates 50 years of generosity strengthening Catholic education and creating opportunities for Bishop Kelly students.

Since 1976, gifts from our community have helped provide scholarships, support school operations, and preserve the exceptional Bishop Kelly experience for generations of Knights. As we look toward the next 50 years, thoughtful charitable planning can help that impact continue.

For individuals age 70½ or older, expanded IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution options in 2026 may provide a meaningful way to support the causes you value while aligning your generosity with your financial goals.

Your gift is more than a contribution. It is an investment in faith, education, and the future of Bishop Kelly.

Learn more at bklegacy.org.

As always, we recommend you consult your financial or tax advisor to determine whether these charitable giving strategies are appropriate for you.

Two anniversaries. One remarkable year.

In 1976, as America celebrated its 200th birthday, a group of faithful believers in Boise founded the Bishop Kelly Foundation. This Fourth of July, as our nation marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence, we're celebrating 50 Years of Impact right alongside it.

The freedoms declared in 1776 — including the freedom to worship, to gather, and to educate our children in faith — are the very foundation this community is built on. Today we give thanks for them.

Happy Independence Day from our BK family to yours. 🎆

If you're 70½ or older, your IRA can do more than support your retirement. It can help send a Knight to Bishop Kelly.

Through a qualified charitable distribution (sometimes called an IRA charitable rollover), you can give directly from your IRA to the Bishop Kelly Foundation.

Because the gift transfers straight from your account to BKF, it's never counted as taxable income to you. For many of our friends, that means supporting the school they love and lowering their tax bill in the same year.

A few things worth knowing:

-You can give up to $111,000 from your IRA in 2026
-Your gift can count toward your required minimum distribution
-It lowers your taxable income even if you don't itemize
-Funds must transfer directly from your IRA custodian to BKF

Every gift helps keep a Bishop Kelly education within reach for the next generation of Knights.

See how it works, or start your gift, at bklegacy.org. Have questions? We'd love to talk with you. As always, check with your advisor about what's right for your situation.

Behind every Bishop Kelly Knight is a family — and behind so many of those families is you.

More than 1 in 4 BK families receive support from the Bishop Kelly Foundation, helping keep a Catholic, Knight-centered education within reach for students across our community.

That's the quiet power of generosity: it multiplies. Every gift to the Foundation helps another family say yes to BK. 🖤💛

Bell-bottoms. Disco. And the year it all began! ✌

Back in 1976, the Bishop Kelly Foundation got its start with one timeless mission: making a faith-centered education possible for every Knight who walks through our doors. Fifty years later, that mission still hasn't gone out of style.

From the families who gave first to the students thriving today, every gift has built something that lasts.

Class of '76, this one's for you. What's your favorite memory from your BK days? Tell us below. 👇
