Word to the wise for future IBOB tournaments: never let the freshmen have your phone 😆

What an awesome day at the Region III Idaho Battle of the Books Middle School/Junior High Tournament! The Pathfinders (7th grade) and the String Quartet of Unsupervised Preschoolers with Unsolicited Opinions (9th grade) had a terrific showing, and the String Quartet ended up making it all the way to the quarterfinals. The highlight of the day was author and library advocate John Schu’s effervescent presentation and book signing. He accepted our gift of hair mushrooms and took the time to speak from the heart with each individual in a VERY long line. Truly an unforgettable experience! The winning team came from Heritage Middle School and the runners-up from the Meridian Library District. Our Vikings played like champions and had a great time.
