The Student Union Fine Arts Program provides student-driven arts engagement programming for students, faculty, staff, and community members. We believe that our visual arts programs promote personal growth, intellectual development, and enrichment for all members of our Boise State community by providing opportunities for arts engagement at all levels of arts education and ability. We seek to crea

te these opportunities through our Student Union Exhibition Series, including one rotating art gallery and pop-up style exhibitions throughout the Boise State Student Union Building; through the Student Union permanent and historic collection of works, boasting more than 300 pieces of artwork; and through our partnership with faculty, staff, students and artists.

Frank Goitia draws artistic inspiration from the individuals and experiences of his life. Growing up at the Royal Hotel – just two blocks north of the Basque Museum and Cultural Center, where Boise City Hall stands today, downtown was his playground, with frequent visits to Julia Davis Park, Capitol Park (today Cecil D. Andrus Park), the Boise Depot, and the Ada Theater (today, the Egyptian Theater). After a professor told him to always “paint what you know,” his work has been dedicated to memorializing his Basque culture and the unique experience of growing up in a boarding house.

📍TOMORROW: Join us in the Fine Arts Gallery for the CWI Capstone Artist Exhibition: Converging Collections.

The 2025 CWI Capstone Exhibit celebrates the artistic and academic achievements of these Studio Art graduates: Kaleb Belknap, Thordis Boeker, Chelsea Capps, Alison Colacchio, Wendy Dickinson, Isabel Dominguez, Jessica Fisher, Ari Foy, Jordan Grove, Lakiah Howell, Michelle Jenkins, Mackenzie Macky, Kae Martini, Avery McDonald, Lily McEwen, Shaun Miller, Jacesana Peeples, Emma Prescott, Bryant Varley, and Jordan Wittchow. Boise State is pleased to host their first professional exhibition and hopes they find a future home at the Center for Visual Arts.

The reception will be Wednesday, April 16, 4:30-6:30 pm. Admission is free to all students, staff, and community members. Parking is available for an hourly fee in metered spaces and in the Lincoln and Brady Garages, and light refreshments will be served!
