Mud Day at Leap Ahead Preschool!

Mud play is more than just messy fun. It encourages creativity, sensory exploration, problem solving, confidence, and connection with nature.

At Leap Ahead, our goal is kindergarten readiness through hands on curriculum and meaningful learning experiences, but we also believe childhood should include plenty of time outdoors. Our preschoolers spend up to 3 to 4 hours outside each day exploring, creating, moving, and learning through the world around them.

We believe children need both. A strong foundation for kindergarten and a childhood filled with outdoor adventures.

After a week stuck indoors because of poor air quality, the smoke finally cleared enough for us to get outside for a little while yesterday morning. The smiles, the laughter, the running, and the sunshine felt absolutely magical.

At Leap Ahead, we believe childhood is meant to be spent exploring, playing, and making memories outdoors. We are so thankful our kids finally got to enjoy the fresh air again. We definitely missed our outside time.

Back to school is almost here! Leap Ahead Preschool starts August 24th!

At Leap Ahead, our preschoolers leave us truly prepared for kindergarten and often way ahead of the game. We use the comprehensive Experience Early Learning curriculum along with Zoo Phonics and Handwriting Without Tears to make sure children are building skills across all areas of development, not just letters and numbers.

Our days are filled with hands on learning, art, music, stories, fine motor activities, early literacy, math, science, and lots of time to explore and learn through doing. The curriculum is thorough, but the kids don’t feel like they’re sitting at a desk doing “school.” They’re having fun, and that’s when some of the best learning happens!

Preschool is taught by Miss Shanda, who brings 25 years of early childhood and teaching experience to the classroom.

We love watching our preschoolers grow in confidence, independence, and skills throughout the year and leave Leap Ahead ready and excited for kindergarten!
