Music Lingua with Veronica Fletcher

Music Lingua with Veronica Fletcher My Music Lingua classes are designed to teach French and Spanish to children ages 0-8 through music, movement, story-telling, drama, games and art.

Every child can learn a foreign language. Our goal is to give them the opportunity. You will find that the Music Lingua method is a fun and unique way for your child to learn a second language. Children are taught songs in French or Spanish with the use of many visual aids. The songs are fun and repetitious and the main vocabulary is repeatedly reinforced through games, simple commands, art projec

ts and drama. All of the senses are engaged in learning the language. The goal is to teach the children the language while having fun singing songs and playing with toys. Without realizing it, the children soon signal their comprehension by responding physically to commands in French or Spanish and eventually responding verbally as well. Every effort is made to keep a low stress level in the classroom by not requiring anyone to speak or act if they are not comfortable doing so. On the first day of a Music Lingua class each child is given a student packet, which includes the CD of songs for that session. Parents are encouraged to have the child listen to the CD at home and in the car. By the next class the children are already familiar with the tunes and sounds of the words, allowing me to focus on comprehension. Each 10 to 12 week session has a unique theme, such as "Life in the Ocean", "Life at Home", or "African Safari". The classroom activities and all take-home materials revolve around the common theme. During the school year, I offer both parent/child and drop-off classes, which typically meet 45 minutes per week. I also offer week-long camps during the summer months. It is such a joy for me to see my students come to class with a smile on their faces and watch them eventually blurt out the new words and phrases they have learned in French or Spanish! Learning a second language at that age is so effortless. It doesn't come as a surprise when parents tell me their children are showing off their new language skills at home or elsewhere!

Hello! Just wanted to reach out and let you know that I have not reached a decision yet about how to proceed with in-person language classes here in Boise. It has been a long time of waiting and these last 2 years have been hard on everyone. Looking forward to a time when we can all meet up freely. 😀
