St. Mark’s Catholic School is affiliated with St. Mark’s Catholic Community and the Diocese of Boise. It provides a quality Catholic education for students in Kindergarten thr

ough 8th grade, with an annual enrollment consistently over 300 students. Mark’s Catholic School opened its doors in 1967, as a “mission school” of Sacred Heart Church and school. The population of Boise was expanding west and a new parish and school were needed. The “mission” school opened with three classrooms. Mark’s School was truly a labor of love as much of the construction was completed by parent volunteers. Today, St. Mark’s School is still blessed with great parent volunteers who continue to maintain and update its structure as needed. History:
1967: St. Mark’s opens its doors as a school
1975: St. Mark’s church celebrates its first Mass
1998: Kindergarten is offered for the first time
2001: St. Mark’s Home and School Association funded the remodeling of the school library and added the school’s first computer lab

2001: St Mark’s Community Church purchases land ¼ mile down the road from the school to build a new church and offices.

2004: St. Mark’s Community Church celebrates its first Mass in the new church, leaving the structure of the old church to serve as a school auditorium for programs, assemblies, and meetings.
2007: St. Mark’s School receives a substantial grant from the E.L. Wiegand foundation in the amount of $183,507.13 which was used to furnish the new middle school as well as outfit the entire school with numerous technological advances including SmartBoards and LCD projectors in each and every classroom.
2008: St. Mark’s adds four more classrooms and now has a “middle school environment” for the school’s 6th through 8th grade students.

2014: St. Mark’s Catholic School joins social media with its first Facebook posting.
