"Happy is she who believed that the Lord would fulfill the promises He made to her." -Luke 1:45
Today we celebrate the hard-working women within our Indian communities. Those who have been widowed, live with chronic illnesses, and provide for their families. AND those leading by Godly example as nurses, child caretakers, teachers, and administrative staff.
Happy International Women's Day!

It's ! Hansen's Disease (also known as leprosy) still occurs in over 120 countries around the globe. Like many of these countries, there are still strong social stigmas surrounding the disease throughout India.
Send Hope Now supports two l***r colonies in south-central India through food assistance, medical care, and by providing comfortable clothing to those who are deemed "untouchable" by society-- despite the fact that leprosy is easily curable. Please join us in praying for increased awareness and education about leprosy in the slums of India and around the world.

Dear friends,
We are incredibly excited to announce that Pastor Guna, Director of India Operations, will be our special guest speaker at the Plant Hope Dinner and Auction 2022 on October 7th! It has been several years since anyone from our team in India has been able to make the long trip to the United States, and we are so blessed to have the opportunity to host Pastor Guna and his wife Victoria in just a few weeks.
For those who may not be familiar with the history of Send Hope Now, this ministry began in 1989 through a chance encounter between Pastor Guna and Calvary Chapel Church in Boise, Idaho. Guna grew up as an orphan in India and felt the Lord call him to care for future generations of orphans. While on a trip to visit his sister in Boise, Guna walked into Calvary, shared his heart for his community in India, and the ministry was born.
Guna will be sharing a word and will give an update on all of the exciting projects taking place in India the evening of October 7th. He will also have the opportunity to speak at various churches and reconnect with close ministry partners over the course of his time in the U.S.. For more information about connecting with Guna, please reach out to our office. We hope that this news encourages and excites you, and we can't wait for this time of connection... More details to come!

You may recall reading about 7 year old Stephen, the son of Pastor Bhasker in Karnataka, who was diagnosed with bone cancer just a few months ago. After undergoing initial treatment, doctors made the difficult decision to amputate his left leg in an attempt to stop the cancer from spreading.
Since then, Stephen has made it through two sessions of chemotherapy and has remained under the watchful eye of medical stuff. Due to some of the side effects he's been experiencing from the treatment, such as pain, discomfort, and vomiting, he has not been able to leave the hospital.
Yesterday, however, we received word that Stephen should be well enough to be discharged from the hospital by the end of this week. During this time, he will be able to rest, be with his family, and have some normalcy back in his life. His doctors are planning for him to undergo a third chemotherapy treatment in the coming weeks, but a date has not been decided yet. We will continue to gather information about his well-being and send updates as they come in from our team in India.
We thank you for partnering with us in prayer for Stephen. Please continue to pray for his health, his family, and his medical team.

Some of you may remember a prayer request we put out recently for an orphan girl Kavitha. Last night she went home to be with the Lord. She was 19 years old and had been struggling physically for some time. Please pray for the team in India as they grieve this loss. We rejoice that she is with Jesus and no longer in pain.

Prayer Request ||
Indian corruption and bribery is something we always have had to deal with as a Christian organization in a Hindu nation. Currently we are in a land dispute with a man who claims to have ownership of the land that has our two largest Homes of Hope. Please join us in prayer for Guna and the team as they figure out how to combat this claim with love and integrity.

TICKETS ON SALE NOW for the 2022 Plant Hope Dinner & Auction!
Today is the day to buy tickets for the Plant Hope Dinner & Auction on October 7th, 2022! It will be a time to gather, share how Jesus is moving in India, and raise funds for the planting of a new church and community hub in the tribal region of Odisha. This special event includes a gourmet meal, an in-person visit from the leadership in India, and an auction.
Ticket sales cover the costs of putting on this event so that ALL funds raised on October 7th go directly to the Odisha Project.
About the Odisha Project
Odisha is an eastern Indian state of over 43 million people, best known for it's tribal cultures and ancient Hindu temples. Hindus make up the overwhelming majority of Odisha's population and Muslims make up the largest minority. Only 2% of the people living in Odisha are Christian and those who are believers face heavy opposition and persecution.
This project will plant a community hub with a brand new church, home for children, and safe space for various outreach projects to take place. It will provide our team in India with the opportunity to train up new pastors and leaders who will begin their own ministries within the region. Community outreach projects, such as the widow assistance and feeding families programs, are the best way for our pastors to not only help those in need, but also share Jesus with those who do not know Him.
Check out our Eventbrite page for FAQs and table reservation information! If you can't make it to the event and still want to give, you can do so at http://ow.ly/awuX50K8OLH by giving to "Designated Projects".

Update on the staff child Stephen:
Stephen is 7 years old and is the son of Pastor Bhasker, one of our staff members of 15 years who leads a church in Karnataka. For the last two months, Stephen has been undergoing treatment for bone cancer in Bangalore.
After weeks of going back and forth with doctors, his family and our India team made the difficult decision to have his left leg amputated in an attempt to stop the cancer from spreading to the rest of his body.
This has been a major adjustment for little Stephen, as he still does not quite understand why all of this is happening to him. When Pastor Guna (our Director in India) went to visit soon after his surgery, Stephen asked where his leg went. Guna assured him that Jesus was keeping his leg safe and that He would give it back to him one day in heaven.
Later in the visit, Stephen expressed that he wished he had an iPad (like the one Guna had for work) to play games on while he was in the hospital. Guna smiled and promised that he'd bring him one the following day. Overcome with joy, Stephen couldn't help but laugh at the exciting news-- causing Guna and his parents to laugh along with him. His family was relieved to see his smiling face for the first time in awhile. The very next day, Stephen was presented with a brand new iPad-- with many games already installed for him to play while in recovery.
Please join us in praying for Stephen and his family. Please pray for the healing of his cancer, for the wisdom of Stephen's doctors and medical team, and for encouragement. Thank you.

Dear Send Hope Now Family,
Please join us in prayer for the following children.
One of our Home of Hope children, Kavitha (pictured), is sick and had to be admitted to the hospital. She is 15 years old and was recently welcomed into our home after we found her malnourished and weighing only 30 pounds. Please prayer for her health to continue to improve.
Stephen is a staff members child who recently was diagnosed with cancer. He had surgery to remove the cancer and it became infected. The infection has increased and the doctors have told to amputate his leg to stop the cancer from spreading. Pastor Guna spent 3 hours with the doctors to find an alternative treatment but they have told this is the only option. The surgery is on Thursday. Please pray that God would comfort and strengthen the family during these hard times.
A young boy named Kiran has come to our Home of Hope and he is very weak and had to be admitted to hospital. Doctors are taking tests to see if he has TB. He has lost both his parents and his relatives had neglected him. Please pray for wisdom for the doctors.
Thank you for your prayers for these kids and all the others in need throughout India.
In Christ,
Send Hope Now Team

As of this week, our website is now live!
On the new site, you can learn about our mission, find specific program information, and view our financials. If you're a partner of Send Hope, then you're probably familiar with the HIV/AIDS Nutrition Kits Program. Nutrition kits provide essentials such as food, supplemental ingredients, and hygiene items to families in need, many of which suffer from HIV. This year, we made the decision to rename the program in hopes of truly capturing what is accomplished through this special and unique ministry-- which is feeding families.
Millions of families in the slums of India suffer from hunger each year as a result of extreme poverty. Most people living in these areas work daily-wage, manual labor jobs that do not provide them with the income needed to sustain a family. On top of this, those suffering from negative health effects related to chronic illnesses often find it difficult to hold and keep a job. When money gets tight, children can go days or weeks without a meal.
Your gift helps ensure that families won’t go hungry in times of need. A gift of $15 supplies a family with one month’s worth of food. Can you imagine feeding your family for only $15? Whether it's a one-time or monthly gift, you can make a huge impact on a hungry family. If you are already giving monthly to the HIV/AIDS Nutrition Kits Program, no need to fret! Your gift will remain unchanged, but will show up as "Feeding Families" in your giving portal and on your emailed receipts.
By making a gift to Feeding Families, you’ll help by providing much-needed essentials to a family in need, such as:
- Nutritious food kits that include wheat flour, legumes, milk powder, cooking oil, biscuits, and other staple ingredients
- Therapeutic foods that help HIV/AIDS-infected families supplement their medication and treatments
- Education for parents on healthy, balanced diets for themselves and children of all ages
- Supplementary powdered infant formula for undernourished babies
- Hygiene items such as soap, hand sanitizer, and baby oil

You may recall the story of Vinesh, whose life was completely changed by education. Vinesh became an orphan at a young age after losing both of his parents. Vinesh was brought to our Home of Hope when he was 7 years old, and it was there that he developed a love for learning. However, when the time came for him to attend college, he had no living family members to turn to for financial support.
Thanks to the Higher Education Fund, which provides students the opportunity to earn their degrees, Vinesh had his tuition fully covered. He went on to complete not only his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, but also Bible school. While serving as an intern in one of our Homes of Hope, he also decided to pursue his MBA. Once his education was complete, he got an incredible opportunity to work in a bank as a financial analyst. He has now made it his mission to give back as much as he can to his community and to our many projects in India.
In total, Vinesh was supported by Send Hope Now for 17 years. Normally, an orphan in his position would find it difficult to even complete a high school education. Vinesh has gone above and beyond to pursue his calling, and he is so grateful to the Higher Education program for helping him through the process. Today, during Idaho Gives, you can make a difference in the life of someone just like Vinesh by giving a gift to Higher Education.

Today's the day! Now through Thursday, May 5th, celebrate Idaho Gives by joining us in our effort to send our students to high school and college. Your donation of an amount will help or choose any of the suggested giving options.
Why support Higher Education? Your giving to Higher Education helps the children who have grown up in our Homes of Hope orphanages have an opportunity to pursue their God-given callings. Getting their high school and college education allows these young adults to escape extreme poverty and give back to their churches and communities. Many of these children grow up and either work for the organization or financially support our efforts in their hometowns.
Here’s how you can make a difference:
1. Visit our Idaho Gives page
2. Make a donation
3. Spread the word! Text a friend. Forward our emails. Post on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and tag us using the hashtags and
