Day 4 of where your money goes.
Don’t forget all Jog-a-thon money is due TOMORROW!
If you grew up going going to school in West Ada or if you have older kiddos you may know that in previous years all 4th grade students went to Rendezvous.
Idaho history is a big part of 4th grade curriculum and Rendezvous was the perfect event to tie all their learning together.
Rendezvous was permanently canceled by the district, due to size and budget constraints.
Never fear…. Our amazing 4th grade teachers came up with the idea to use their Artist in Residence money to bring in several artist and put on their own CDSA Rendezvous. There will be square dancing with the official State of Idaho Caller, leather bracelet and corn husk doll making, creative writing and lessons on horse care.
We have high hopes in making this our new 4th grade tradition. We are able to bring these artist into the school only through your generous donation!
We appreciate your support!
Friday all the money is due for Jog-a-thon!
Part 3 of where that money goes…..
Who’s heard of “ IBOB”?
Idaho Battle of the Books, or IBOB, is a statewide voluntary reading motivation and comprehension program open to our 4th, 5th and 6th graders at CDSA, regardless of ability. IBOB is meant to expose students to quality literature representing a variety of literary styles and viewpoints.
Our amazing librarian, Mrs. Hall, used her classroom money from the PTA to purchase all the books on the IBOB list!
These books will be available to all students in the library, not just IBOB participants.
You’re continued support of CDSA PTA through donations keeps these amazing books in our school!

Part 2 of where your money goes when you donate to the PTA.
Last fall the PTA and the staff at CDSA began the process of adding additional basketball hoops and several funnel ball hoops to the playground. We are still busy coordinating with the district to have them installed this spring. In the meantime, we purchased some fun recess equipment.
Kickballs, soccer balls, jump-ropes, and skip-its help keep the students busy and active during recess.
When you donate to the PTA, where does your money go?
This year the CDSA PTA gave away a teacher mini-grant worth $500.
The purpose of this grant was to boost teacher involvement in the PTA and to get much needed supplies into classrooms.
Third grade teacher, Casey Grant, was this years winner. I’ve heard some exciting stories from her class about the items she purchased with her grant. If you have a student in her class please ask them what cool things Ms. Grant bought for them!
We hope to have the funds to offer this grant annually.
We appreciate all your support and look forward to being blown away with a record-setting Jog-a-thon!
JOG-A-THON time is here!
Friday, April 29th!
At the beginning of the year PTA promised only 2 fundraisers for CDSA! The first was the Texas Roadhouse Roll sales and now it is time for our CDSA ANNUAL JOG-A-THON!
Your child has already brought home their donation envelope. Donations are collected from now until Friday April 22nd!
Please reach out to your friends, families, and neighbors to help us. Traditionally this is our largest fundraiser, and we have a goal to raise over $20,000!
These funds are vital to CDSA. Ask your student what their class is doing for their Artist in Residence project? We have some amazing things going on at CDSA. Next week we will publish a series of where your money is going when you donate to the PTA!
PTA is gathering prizes for Jog-A—Thon in the next week or so and we want to know….
What PRIZE ITEMS will motivate your kiddos!!!!
Today the K-4 graded students of CDSA got to experience a live performance 🎭 from Opera Idaho!
How amazing to be experiencing these live art experiences!
READ WEEK is next week!!!
Have fun!!!
