I have been sending my teen daughter to Christina's cooking classes and she always has a big smile on her face when she brings home her delicious food. My daughter adores Christina who is an amazing person with lots of energy and passion, creativity and warmth. A total accomplished business women with an enormous heart. Great role model for young teen girls who are interested in cooking in a fun and casual atmosphere. I highly ecommend it!!!!!

Big fans of signs guys. Not the kind you 🛑 at. Well actually, yeah. The signs I see make me stop. Sometimes they make me do crazy things, and other times, I’m literally like Um, No. Last year I flew to Monterey, CA to look at a space for a second location just because I am obsessed with the color Aloha and the walls were painted that way. When I walked into the space immediately it was a NO. Wellp. I walked into 8th and Main (my newest location!) and saw the S and the T already on the wall before putting in an offer and knew I had to have it. Well that was in March. Thought I lost it, but now that it’s officially happening it is scary. Really, really scary. But I am so excited. And I am so very grateful for all of the support I have gotten along the way. Shoot for the ✨ 🌟 💫 baby! And you may just hit the 🌙 or at worst, be a Care bear and land in the ☁️ ⛅️ ☁️ .

Join Chef Nate Whitley of Terroir Boise at the Field-to-Fork Festival for this FREE Chef Led Class!

This class will cover how to shuck and serve oysters. Chef Whitley will demonstrate how to make Mignonette, a popular accompaniment for raw oysters, as well as how to cook Oysters Rockefeller, Oysters with Chili Crisp butter, Smoked Oysters en escabeche, and Oysters Fried in Cornmeal and Teff with remoulade.

Each 60 minute class is free, open to the public and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. No advance class registration required!

Welcome back to FAQ Friday! (Where we answer some of the most-asked questions our team receives about Telaya)

Q: “Do you take reservations?”
A: No. Well, not really… Our tasting room seating is always first-come-first-serve, but there are several options for reserving your visit ahead of time:
1. Book a Telaya Experience (ideal for groups of 4-12, enjoy a private tour, tasting, and educational session with a member of our team over 1.5 hours)
2. Book our Playa Room (ideal for groups of 2-8, a small private room with a jaw dropping view of the greenbelt and river as seen above)
3. Book our Teton Room (ideal for gatherings and meetings of 8-50ish, with an even more exceptional view of the greenbelt, river, and foothills with two balconies)
You can book or enquire about any of these options on our website!

If you’re a larger group (6 or more), but a private space rental or tour isn’t what you’re looking for, and you’d still like to try your luck in the tasting room, we recommend calling ahead. Our team will leave a note in that day’s calendar and gather some information from you. It still isn’t a reservation, and we still can’t hold any tables, but it is EXTREMELY helpful for our team to know when you’re coming so that we can take excellent care of you when you get here!

Do you enjoy people and love food and social interaction? You will be teaching a variety of cooking classes to both adults and children at our hands on recreational cooking school in downtown Boise, Idaho. We are looking for energetic and personable front of the house customer service expertise with the technical skill of back of the house! Classes are fast paced. Pay starts at $20/hour with review at 30 days. Most classes are in the afternoon/evenings, shifts are 4-5 hours in length typically from 5-930, 7 days a week, with baking classes in the daytime Saturday and Sunday periodically. We are flexible with the quantity of classes taught/per week or month as we are hiring a variety of instructors! We are very flexible and hours can be from 5 hours a week to 35 hours, depending on the person and fit!

Sushi Making is Back!

Grab a friend or fly solo and join in on the sushi making fun! Students will learn a variety of techniques including how to make sushi rice, all about seaweed, nori, & proper knife skills. Congrats to Idaho’s 2022 James Beard Award Semifinalists! In the Best Chef Mountain Region (ID, UT, CO, WY, MT) category we have Salvador Alamilla of [Caldwell’s first appearance!!], Dan Ansotegui of [Basque food recognition finally], and Kris Komori now of [previous nomination while at State & Lemp]. In the National category of Best Baker we have Khatera Shams of [Well earned!]. Congratulations to all nominated. The James Beard Foundation will narrow the lists of Semifinalists in each category from 20 to usually 5 Finalists next month. Then the winners will be announced at a ceremony in Chicago on June 13th."
