The Art School

The Art School is a safe environment for children to create masterpieces. Summer, holiday and year long classes offered.

Operating as usual

08/27/2021

Yesterday, we explored creating abstract art with tissue paper. There is still a bit of work to accomplish, but overall I am pleased with the start.

Time for Quick Draw!!!

The first object you see draw it in 30ish seconds with your eyes closed. Flip your paper and draw the same object again in the same amount of time, this time with your eyes open- but you must keep your eyes on the object- no peeking!!
Post your accomplishments to this feed!!

Here is mine.

[07/15/20]   After waiting for weeks in hopes of posting the exciting news of Fall classes, The Art School will continue in a holding pattern. I will begin posting activities and skill lessons for all interested.

I am working to finish art pieces.

04/20/2020

Several weeks ago, while on a walk, I my heart was lifted as I spotted colorfully painted rocks strategically placed or tucked carefully along the sidewalk. Then a week ago I spotted this sign and selected a couple of rocks left for the purpose of sharing. Let’s spread this wonderful idea all over!💕

[04/08/20]   It is springtime!
We can see that trees and flowers are growing!
Draw what is happening under the ground to bring life to what we are seeing above the ground. The drawing can be real or make believe. Remember you are the artist!

04/02/2020

I made myself a little book. You can do the same thing to make a sketch book!!

[04/01/20]   Take some time to
Doodle!

[03/26/20]   Draw a rooster playing the violin while dancing on the fence.

[03/23/20]   Drawing prompt: Draw a chair that comes alive when someone sits in it.

[03/21/20]   If you have a pet- draw them, or draw a portrait of the pet you want. Post your drawings in the comments!

[03/18/20]   Today please create a piece of art to make others smile.

You can post your work in the comments.

[03/16/20]   With all of you at home and with all the pictures of COVID-19 cells out there, time to make some art using those cells. Have some fun- think outside the box. Use patterns, colors, abstract.. etc. Draw, paint, or wire- the options are limitless! Make a comic even!

You can post the results on my page in the visitor post or text them to me! I will post my version at the end of the day, before I retire for the night.

Check back tomorrow for a new prompt!
