Celebrating the incredible achievements of Hamidreza (Hamid) Ahadiyan, one of our first Bridges to the Future scholarship recipients! 🌟 With the support of AGU’s 'Bridges to the Future' program, Hamid had the chance to attend the prestigious Gordon Research Conference on Flow and Transport in Permeable Media. The Environmental Design and Sustainable Solutions team's success secured them a spot in the National Competition at Brigham Young University. Despite being a smaller program, the department's dedication to excellence shone through, with the steel bridge team notably earning eight individual awards. Supported by industry sponsors and diverse campus collaborations, Boise State's civil engineering prowess continues to thrive, showcasing innovative solutions and academic rigor.

The Idaho Academy of Science and Engineering celebrated its annual Closing Banquet on April 6, 2024, honoring Dr. Nick Hudyma for his exceptional contributions to geotechnical engineering. With a career spanning 25 years across various academic institutions and notable research in fracture characterization of bone, rock mechanics, and infrastructure safety, Dr. Hudyma has left an indelible mark on the field. As a professor at Boise State University and former Chair of the Civil Engineering Department, his visionary leadership and extensive publication record reflect his commitment to advancing knowledge and engineering education. Recognized for his impact on research, teaching, and advocacy, Dr. Hudyma's legacy continues to inspire future generations in science and engineering.
