A full-time infant spot has unexpectedly opened up at The Little Haven Co. for September.

The family who had reserved the spot is no longer able to take it due to a change in schedule, so we’re opening it back up to a new family.

Our waitlist families have all since found care, so we’re reaching out to our community to fill this one unexpected opening.

The Little Haven Co. is a small, home-based childcare setting centered around connection, play, routine, and letting little ones simply be little. Our environment is intentionally cozy, calm, and welcoming — a place where children can feel comfortable, cared for, and at home.

Our vacation time resets every calendar year, and we require a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice to use it — no exceptions.

Yay! We love the support from our tiny community of families. We are stocking up to prepare for the cold and flu season. Thank you for the supplies, Ana!! ♥️ We appreciate it more than you know!

Our whole family will be getting the flu shot soon, and I will be getting the Covid vaccine on top of it. Covid takes me out- definite closure if I get it. So, I do everything in my power to keep it away 😑🤞🏼

Cold update:
Every kiddo has come down with the cold except those that haven’t been here. I also came down with it last Thursday and still feel it a bit.

High emotions, slight lingering coughs, & runny noses are what we are seeing today for those that are on the tail end.

Hopefully everyone is on the mend and we can get back to having fun at daycare!

If you have an extra box of tissues or disinfecting wipes you are willing to donate to the daycare to help us increase cleaning and build a tissue stash, we would greatly appreciate it!

WHY DO YOU HAVE OPENINGS? I THOUGHT YOU WERE FULL? 🤔

Great question! ❤️ And honestly, it’s a pretty special answer.

We’ve been doing this for 10 years now, and with 10 years comes a LOT of growth, change, and life happening around us.

When I started The Little Haven Co. (aka Taya’s Daycare) in 2016, I had a toddler and a newborn. I was working 7:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, while raising my girls and taking Paityn to preschool a few days a week. Those two little girls were the entire reason I started this business in the first place.

A lot has changed since then.

The last time we changed our business hours was around 2019 or 2020—right around COVID. Since then, our kids have gotten older, our family’s needs have changed, I’ve gone back to college, and, if I’m being completely honest, daycare had slowly become all-consuming.

Morning, noon, night. Weekdays, weekends. Daycare things creeping into every corner of home and life.

So this year, we decided it was time for a reset.

We shortened our hours by 30 minutes and now close at 5:00 PM. That small change has actually made a really meaningful difference for our family.

And there’s another reason this feels so important right now.

We have Isabel for less than two more years. That means one more summer before she graduates and heads out into the world. Paityn has less than four years left at home, which means only three more summers with her before she starts the next chapter of her life.

Those years are going to go by incredibly fast.

So Dave and I realized we needed to slow down a little. I need to focus on finishing college. We need more time with our girls. And we needed to create a better balance between the business we love and the life we built it for.

So yes—there are openings now. ❤️

Not because we’re going anywhere. Not because we’re struggling. And not because we suddenly have a bunch of space.

We simply made an intentional decision to make our business fit our life a little better.

After 10 years, I think we’ve earned the right to make some changes. 😉

At the end of the day, we are Taya and Dave first, parents second, and daycare owners third.

And honestly? I think that’s exactly how it should be.

The Little Haven Co. has always been built around family. It started because of our girls, and now we’re making a little more room in our lives to actually enjoy these years with them. ❤️

Sometimes a reset is exactly what you need.
