We will have a financial update, review and vote on the proposed budget for 2024/25, vote for board members for 2024/25, and recruit event chairpersons. BOARD MEMBERS AND CHAIRPERSONS NEEDED, see info below.

BOARD MEMBER POSITIONS:
Application form due 5/8/24: https://forms.gle/rzvH4MiZN7N2MHHf8

The PTO is a nonprofit corporation and is run by our volunteer board. Any member (parents/guardians, teachers, staff) can become a board member. The board is responsible for minding the business matters, setting the direction of the organization, and helping coordinate our programs and events. The election this year will include the vice president, treasurer, secretary, and communications secretary positions. Positions are for a 1-year term.

CHAIRPERSON POSITIONS:

This helps us know what is covered and what areas we need to recruit more help with. It also gives you more time to plan and prepare - especially for those programs and events that start at the beginning of the school year.

And the winning PTO spending ideas are . . .

1. Library makeover
2. Portable electronic scoreboard
3. New speaker system for gymnasium

The first two items will be funded right away and we will work with the school on the new speaker system for the gymnasium to figure out how much that will cost.

Amazingly, just from the Fun Run profits, we have been able to fund:
✏️Teacher Accounts
🎨Art Program
🚌Field trips
📚Library Makeover
🏀Portable electronic scoreboard
🎤New speaker system for the gymnasium

The PTO will also be purchasing a popcorn machine from general profits to use for future fundraising!

We can't wait to see what we can accomplish next year!

Don’t forget! Our PTO Spending meeting is this evening, 2/8/34 at 6pm in the Trail Wind library or virtually !

Trail Wind PTO SPENDING General Membership Meeting
Thursday 2/8/24 at 6:00pm
Trail Wind Library or Google Meet:
https://meet.google.com/nfv-qkpq-xgt

Please join us to vote on how to spend our remaining funds from the 2023 Pioneer Dash FUNdraiser after allocating donations for extra teacher classroom funds and field trips! Virtual or in-person attendance is REQUIRED to vote.

During the meeting, we will review the Fun Run profits and planned funding (teacher classroom funds and field trips), answer any questions, and vote on how to spend the extra funds.

IDEA CRITERIA (deadline was 2/6/24):
Needs to benefit the whole school or a large portion of the school. PTO tries to focus on funding that has the biggest impact for the most students/teachers/staff. Ideas that focus on a smaller portion of the school, for example a single grade only, can be achieved with targeted fundraising.

Specifics on type and price. Please provide us with links to specific products/services/companies needed for the idea and exactly how much the idea will cost.

Ideas must be received no later than February 6th to be included in the vote.

Ideas will be subject to approval by the principal, Mrs. Boyd, for safety, school/district compliance, appropriateness, and compatibility.

Google Meet: https://meet.google.com/nfv-qkpq-xgt
All members can attend, including teachers, staff, parents and guardians.
*Attendance is required to vote.

VOTING INFO: We will share a Google form with everyone in attendance at the meeting. Voting will be open until midnight. Once voting is completed, the ideas will be ranked based on the number of votes each idea receives. The PTO will fund as many ideas as we can until the available funds are depleted. If a top idea requires funds beyond what is available, the PTO will set aside the funds available and work on raising the remaining funds needed in the future.
