I am curious at to your opinions on this situation. I am currently working with a group that for the past 3 years had a nice, optimistic manager. Because he wanted to have no problems he told everyone what they wanted to hear and went on doing whatever he did, but no one knew what that was. These leadership responsibilities were missing: Communication, honesty, follow up and follow through, collaboration, expectations, and role clarity among a host of others. I did all-team interviews and gave him the feedback; he left three weeks later. In the meantime the staff trusts few, are frustrated, and the turnover has been great.
A new manager is about to be hired. I know what I would like the interviewers to divulge during the interviews and after the hire, but I do t believe upper management agrees.

It feels so good to be busy! Coaching and team-building at the moment. It’s great to meet new people and it fulfills my passion. Can’t wait to measure the results!

Another Real Colors session complete. What a magnificent way to help teams/individuals understand themselves, each other, family members, and others. Once there is understanding why people are the way they are, communication can be adapted so others can here your message they way you need them to.

Team building is such a fascinating request to receive. Often people hear these words and automatically think of a trust-fall. Most times those requesting team building don’t have a clue what they want, certainly through no fault of their own. They just know the team needs to be “fixed”. I am so thankful to have learned so much about analyzing the team to get to the heart of the team’s inner-workings and dynamics. As a result I am able to prescribe the best solution.
My newest project for a State agency is exciting. 3 different approaches will help the team realize that no matter how strong a team is change can have an impact. The more change, the bigger impact. They will also clarify roles, which are currently overlapping due to change, and they will create agreement on the operating rules for the team. I will also be working with the manager on performing his part in the process. Will this “fix it”? Not overnight. It will definitely help. It takes time and commitment from the entire team. They will however, be better equipped to heal the hurts, operate more effectively and practice actions and behaviors that support a healthy team environment.
I so love what I do!

A workshop for a State agency to address multiple large issues through discussion, and a group brainstorming and problem solving activity, resulted in the huge effort.
We began the effort by utilizing a survey to find out what the employees felt were pain points then called on the managers to validate, prioritize, and address the issues.
I am fulfilled when the management team takes strong actions to better there reputation with customers, partners, and staff.
