Congratulations to Adam Stock, Founder of Cargo Made LLC, for winning the 2 Minute Drill pitch competition hosted by David Meltzer.
Stock's episode aired on Bloomberg TV last month, and you can watch his award-winning pitch at about 27 minutes and 27 seconds in the link below. Stock competed against four other contestants for $50,000 in cash and prizes.
Cargo Made LLC designs and manufactures motorized tie-down straps for professionals with pickup trucks and flatbed trailers. With a patent-pending design, Cargo Made secures loads with electric motors capable of tightening straps to 2,500 pounds of tension. With their knife-resistant straps you can lock the load and prevent theft of your cargo.
Stock first came to the Boise State Venture College as a participant in the Incubator where he hoped to accelerate his business idea and fine tune his pitching skills. He then went on to compete in 2021 Idaho Entrepreneur Challenge (IEC) where he won the Manufactured Goods Track and the Final Pitch Competition. This win secured his spot in the 2021 Boise Entrepreneur Week (BEW) pitch competition. Stock won this as well, paving the way for the 2 Minute Drill.
Venture College is proud to have Stock as part of our entrepreneurial community and as a mentor to future program participants. His hard work, dedication, and success will no doubt inspire students to launch their ventures beyond the classroom and turn their dreams into a reality.

The Boise State Venture College is grateful for the opportunity to partner with One Refugee this past semester to provide an internship focused on the Idaho Entrepreneur Challenge (IEC). We are excited to introduce a student who played a vital role in the success of the 8th annual IEC, Fadil Adan.
Adan is a third-year Boise State student pursuing a degree in Finance, Marketing, and Information Technology Management.
Born in Somalia, Adan spent most of his younger years in Kenya. In 2012, he and his family were relocated to the United States. Throughout his journey to Boise, Adan gained a passion for learning new languages and enjoys serving as a translator for his community. Some of the languages he has mastered include: Somali, Swahili, and English. Adan is currently learning how to speak Portuguese as well.
Adan joined our team at the Venture College as a Social Media and Marketing Intern, however he took on many roles as an event planner as well. If you follow our social channels, you most likely saw many of the designs Adan created to promote the IEC and participating teams.
Adan was exposed to entrepreneurship at a young age as his mom ran a restaurant while living in Kenya, and now owns a daycare in Boise. He has helped his mom with business operations throughout both ventures, and saw the internship at Venture College as a way to continue his passion for entrepreneurship, and as an opportunity to share the stories of other entrepreneurs. Following graduation from Boise State, Adan hopes to pursue a graduate degree in business, and ultimately launch a venture of his own.

Boise State Venture College helps hundreds of students realize and unlock their entrepreneurial potential, including these four women who are creating positive change.
Sierra Sandison is a mechanical engineering senior with minors in computer science, biomedical engineering, and applied mathematics. Sierra launched her business, 3D Printcess, last spring after going viral on TikTok with some of her 3D printing projects and winning her track in the Idaho Entrepreneurship Challenge, hosted by the Venture College. Through 3D Printcess and her famous slugs, Sierra cultivates a community of inclusivity and love.
Boise State and Venture College alum Allison Corona, founder of Chicana Foods, won the Impact Award and $5,000 by participating in the Trailmix Pitch Competition during Boise Startup Week last October. Chicana Foods’ signature product is salsa macha, inspired by a family recipe and typical of the Veracruz and Oaxaca Mexican states with African influences. A portion of Chicana Foods’ sales are donated to non-profit organizations such as the Stay-In-School Quinceañera Program, which exposes Latinx middle school students to art, literature, and culture. Through Allison's startup, she is able to employ herself, her mother and sister, with potential for growth.
A fall 2021 Venture College Incubator alum, Jenny Anderson is inspired by her own journey from homelessness to six figures. Jenny created Maggie.io to connect women in low-wage jobs to high-paying roles in tech sales - like Girls Who Code but for women in tech sales. Jenny leverages her experience hiring, inspiring, and developing early-career sellers to help women go from poverty to prosperity through job training and placement, ongoing mentorship and community, and financial education.
During her final year as a graduate student in the Boise State School of Social Work, Maggie Benedetti, joined the Venture College to cultivate her idea of starting an outdoor adventure program for teenage girls. “Combining something powerful and educational for women and youth within our community, as well as a passion for the outdoors and introducing girls to those places, that is really where Wild Hearts Idaho was born."
