El Canto de las Manos (The Song of the Hands) explores deafness through music, following Jennifer, Gabriel and José, three Deaf musicians from Venezuela, as they face the challenge of staging, for the first time in Sign Language, Beethoven's Fidelio, under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel.

The film shows the isolation that the protagonists experience within their own families and the social discrimination due to their hearing condition, understanding that music is not only their refuge, but their salvation and their hope.

An extraordinary journey that follows the audition preparations and the creative process behind Fidelio, culminating in its premiere in Caracas. Not only is this the first time Fidelio has been performed in sign language, but it also marks the debut of the protagonists as actors and soloists, offering them the
opportunity to become role models within their community.🎶

🌙 Where does night end and day begin? ☀️🎶 Join us as we close our 2025–2026 season with this choral showcase from Critical Mass Vocal Artists, our very own Elite Chamber Ensemble.

We like to think of night and day as opposites… 🌛 but what if they’re part of the same story? 🌞 "Night and Day" explores that space in between… where reflection turns into clarity, and stillness begins to move. From shimmering choral textures to moments of quiet intimacy, this program invites you to slow down, listen closely, and experience something deeply human. This is an evening that doesn’t just shift from dark to light… but reveals what happens along the way.

This concert will feature evening-inspired works by Eric Whitacre, Orlando Lasso, Jonathan Dove, and Benjamin Britten; as well as daytime -themed works by Thomas Tallis, Morten Lauridsen, Harry T. Burleigh, and Dolly Parton.
