It was a fantastic week connecting with other mining professionals, learning more about the issues shaping our industry, and meeting with delegation staff to highlight the importance of domestic mining. Good news worth sharing!

According to the Department of Labor, 2025 mining injury rates in the United States dropped to a record low.

Behind that number are stronger safety standards, better training, smarter technology, and a continued focus on protecting workers on the job. Progress like this shows what’s possible when safety stays front and center.

There’s always more to do, but this is a step in the right direction.

During Governor Little’s State of the State address today, he highlighted the thriving Idaho Launch program, which is helping train Idahoans for in-demand careers. The Idaho Mining Association continues to support Launch and its efforts to train Idahoans for in demand careers.

Governor Little also emphasized Idaho’s pivot role in securing our domestic supply chain, as part of his Enduring Idaho plan. We are in a unique position to capitalize on all that the Gem State has to offer, while remaining responsible stewards of the land, and believe that with Governor Little’s leadership, we can make even greater strides towards energy independence.

Idaho’s strong economy and growing possibilities make it an attractive place to live, work, and raise a family, and our team at the Idaho Mining Association is honored to represent mining in this great state. We look forward to the 2026 Idaho Legislative Session!
