I am wondering what brand of leave in conditioner you recommend I use on my standard? Also, how about a shampoo brand. He is getting a bit stinky and with COVID-19 shutdown my groomer is not open.
This adorable Poodle was freshly groomed. He is one that is good with his general outdoor potty issues but can have urine holding issues . His mom likes splashy colors so here he is in his thin style belly band. It contains 4 mil. sheet plastic inside and won't ripple up. An incontinent pad is put inside to trap what is made. All will be managed now. https://www.facebook.com/DoggieEssentials

We are moving to Meridian and need a recommendation of a GOOD gentle groomer for my 10 year old Mojo......thank you
Hello everyone.....we will be moving to Meridian at the end of July and I’m in need of a recommendation for a GOOD groomer for my MOJO....he is a 10 year old miniature poodle...
I am looking for a middle aged small standard, miniature, or even very large toy poodle for elderly person. A re-homing from another elderly person who can no longer keep their pet would be ideal.
I am looking for a professional groomer for my Jett.
Any standards up for adoption/ Rehoming?
Add to my recent post a second ago... I want a rescue... but not a puppy...male or female.
I've had two Standards. Looking for my third. Would like to attend the monthly Std. Get Together to meet other Std. Fans and maybe find my new, own Standard. Can someone tell me when and where this monthly event is happening. At least I hope it is still happening.
Im interested in adopting a Standard. Have Had two and looking for my third soulmate.

Our crazy dogs have been barking way too much lately and I am not a fan of the electric zapping bark collars. I was at my wits end so I purchased one of those so-called humane citronella collars. It is designed so that when the dog barks, it would shoot out a blast of citronella under his nose.
This morning I was getting the collar ready and filled it with the stuff ... and that's where my morning should have ended. But NO! - it's me, and I begin to become curious as to how said collar works.
I am standing on my front porch "barking" at the collar. Nothing happens. I make sure it's turned on, recheck the fill level, and go through the "getting started" checklist one more time. Again, I bark. Nothing happens.
Now I'm not quite sure *why* I had this next thought, but I did ... I put on the collar. I extended the band, fit the growl box against my throat and barked. Apparently, the collar only works if it feels vibrations, because I immediately received a blast of citronella to the face. I began coughing, which only caused the collar to continue to squirt bug juice over and over into my nasal cavity. I am now on my hands and knees gasping for air, and to make matters worse, our dogs are now non-stop barking. So between coughing and yelling at the dogs to stop, I've emptied over a dozen blasts of citronella to my face.
During all of this ruckus, I'm trying to undo the clasp of the collar, which has somehow managed to weld shut during this whole fiasco. I finally get the collar off and threw that crazy (inhumane) devilish contraption across the yard! As I am laying on my porch, totally out of breath trying to suck in the cool morning air, I am thinking this is probably the dumbest thing I've done in a while.
Then I hear laughter.
My neighbor had witness the whole thing. He was belly laughing and in between gasps, he tells me, "I was going to come over and help, but every time I started toward your house, you'd set it off again and then I would start laughing so hard I couldn't walk."
So here I am, not only are my eyes red, but my face and ears are too. I came inside to take a shower so I wouldn't be smelling like eau de' Tiki Torch, thinking over the lessons learned:
1) Don't test dog collars on oneself.
2) My neighbor is not a good source of help in a comedic crisis situation.
3) I won't have any bug problems for a while.

As the President of the FCI, I express my deepest sorrow on the recent war situation in Ukraine. My hearts and prayers go out to all those affected by the situation in any form. Like everyone else, I truly hope these saddening times will come to an end soon.

I heartily thank each breeder, kennel club, authority, civil organisation throughout Europe who immediately started to organise help for those in need, escaping their homes.
I thank all those who try their best to help those stuck in their homes, unable to move with their dogs.

The great International support shows the real spirit of the FCI community, and we would like to encourage everybody to continue this work being the most important activity related to the situation these days.

My personal RESPECT goes to everybody involved in this rescue movement that makes us proud and proves that we belong together!

The FCI General Committee has decided in consultation with the FCI Agility Commission to cancel the next Agility FCI World Championship, scheduled to take place in Moscow this September because the utmost priority of the FCI is the safety and wellbeing of our competitors and officials.

I strongly believe that PERSONAL CHARACTER GOES IN FRONT OF NATIONALITY! At this moment, judging our own people (sharing the same passion and profession) based on what was decided by others only could create general hatred and emotions that never lead us to any acceptable solutions.

I ask everyone to remain sensible during such dark times. No matter how hard it is due to your fears, sorrow, loss, or grief.

We follow the situation carefully and will inform our community about any possibility of further help needed. I contacted some of our strategical partners to provide help for those in heavy need, even though that can be life-threatening.

In order to decide the possible next steps for the support of our members, the FCI General Committee holds its urgent extraordinary meeting.

My prayers go to everyone suffering in these tragic days.

Dr T Jakkel
President of the FCI

Canyon County Idaho available

This handsome guy is still looking for a forever home! He is a roughly 2 year old standard poodle. He is a VERY good boy, and has a lot of energy. He is good with other animals, but can be a little bit over eager to make friends when he first meets a new dog, but he just REALLY wants to play! He does need some ongoing training, but he is a very smart boy and a fast learner. He is neutered, potty trained, up to date on his vaccines, microchipped and ready to find his forever home!

Adopted!!

Meet Darby! Darby is a male, 2-year-old, Standard Poodle. He is 44 pounds.

Darby arrived at the shelter as a stray in an obvious neglectful condition. He is not only underweight, but he was also severely matted and had numerous wounds on his body. He has bilateral ear infections that are now being treated. He was covered in cheatgrass. He is super sweet and packed with potential! He is ready to start over with a second chance at life.

Darby was adopted and recently returned. Darby needs a commitment to training. He has low-confidence. He barks at strangers and other dogs. He will also need an active lifestyle full of mental enrichment as well as physical exercise. Darby has so much potential with the right family!
