Hello Poodle Owners and Lovers 🐩👁️👁️🐩
My name is Dr. Elizabeth Greif and I am a 🐾canine geneticist🧬 working at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine with veterinary ophthalmologist Dr. Gustavo Aguirre and senior research scientist Dr. Leonardo Murgiano. Our team is looking for genetic risk factors associated with inherited diseases in poodles that lead to impaired vision.👁️ We really need to increase our study populations so that we can validate candidate genetic variants and identify new ones! We are looking to enroll healthy dogs and dogs affected by these disease (listed below and in graphic)—can you help us? From this research, a genetic test can be developed to help breeders maintain diversity in the breed while also producing healthy dogs. We really need your help! Please email me to enroll or to ask any questions, and thank you for taking the time to read this post! ❤️
