After 20 years of homeschooling, I’ve made plenty of mistakes—and learned a lot from them. If I were starting over today, these are the three things I’d do differently: ✨ 1. Stop searching for the perfect curriculum. Choose a solid foundation, then spend your energy learning how your child learns best. ✨ 2. Simplify. Do less than you think you need to. You can always add more later. ✨ 3. Prioritize the relationship over the curriculum. A strong parent-child relationship creates the foundation for meaningful learning. Curriculum is just a tool.

Say it with me, “I don’t suck at this, I’m just new to it.” Homeschooling is like starting a new job. Everything is hard, you have no idea what you’re doing, you feel dumb, everything takes longer than it should, you don’t know the shortcuts and hacks yet, it can be so frustrating! But keeping these things in mind helps: 1. You’re brand new. Nobody expects the newbie to be good at their job. 2. You’ll get better with experience. You gotta just push through the suck to get to the good parts. 3. Future you will look back and be so proud of you for taking this on. So push through and let this experience stretch you. You’ll be grateful for it later 😊
