We have so much to be thankful for this year. ✨
Right now we're especially grateful to have started construction on the expansion of our outdoor classroom, just in time for the cold weather. We look forward to filling this space with many joyous campfire jams in years to come!
And most of all, we're grateful for you -- our community. Our small, family owned and operated business wouldn't be possible without your support! 💓
Tell us in the comments -- what are you thankful for?

It's true! We don't choose our songs -- our players suggest them! 💕
For our upcoming fall season, our studio members submitted 107 song ideas. 🤯 Out of these numerous and wonderful suggestions, we've selected six "total bangers" (as Marcus would say) to break down using our Song Cycle Method. Players learn each song over the course of three weeks, and finish each season knowing a bunch of fun, jammable tunes! 🎶

It was an honor to chat with the young at Future Public School!
visited our 5th graders yesterday to make connections and chat about music as a vehicle for change. Angie & Marcus captivated the engineers with chord progressions and a great discussion about empathy in music, how chords enhance your feelings as you listen & thoughtful responses to student generated questions.

Happy New Year! 🎊
While we're not the type to make resolutions, we do like to set a word of intention to help guide us through the coming year. This year our word is satisfaction -- what's yours?
If your word happens to be curiosity, bravery, or joy, we're here to help you explore this intention through music! 🎶

You might know us as 𝘉𝘰𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘤 𝘓𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘴, but we're changing our name to better reflect our mission to bring music back into daily life.
Our new name, 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙘 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚, is inspired by you; our community. Because music is communal – it’s meant to be created and enjoyed together, like around a campfire. And when people do come together to play music, it's a spark that ignites connection: with music, with yourself, and with others.
All are welcome around the campfire, and it's just as much about being in community as it is about playing songs. Join us!

We're hosting a hootenanny pop-up tonight from 5:00-8:00 at the Meridian Art Week. This event is FREE and open to the public! We'll bring a variety of folk instruments to share. Stop by and we'll teach you a chord or two!

Angie once spent a summer busking in Nashville, and interviewed street performers all across the country (from New York to Seattle) for her senior thesis, "Busking as a Performing Art."
The biggest takeaway from Angie's research is that busking serves as a valuable tool to connect artists with the public. Buskers are "cultural ambassadors" who make music accessible, which is now our mission as teachers!

Fun fact: we were active street performers for many years before we started our music studio. So, when we saw that the was hosting a "Buskerfest" at their Community Art Party in , we jumped at the opportunity to get back to our roots. We're hosting a hootenanny pop-up for anyone who wants to join us and learn a song!
Stay tuned for a couple more great "baby Angie & Marcus" throwback pics, captured by Zeb Palmer at the 2009 Curb Cup.
