It's always all hands on deck when it comes to bot pickup here at iCode Boise! After a long day of building our Robot Squad Campers come together to help pickup and organize all the bits and pieces.
Today our Minecraft Mods: Creative Coding Campers were laser focused while learning about the basics of Minecraft. Throughout the week they will become master minecrafters and learn how to use and create their own mods for the game!
We had a fantastic first week of camps here at iCode Boise! It was so cool to see what our campers could create in just one day. We can't wait to see what next week's campers will accomplish given five!

The celebration continues for National Donut Day! We couldn't help but share this adorable claymation short made by one of our Claymation Creation campers yesterday which features her lovable goat, "Barpee Margret". Creativity plays such a huge part in all aspects of STEAM and we love seeing what our campers build using their imaginations!

What is Victoria up to this summer? Victoria will be taking a 10 week hiatus from iCode to intern at Micron Boise in their Cyber Security Department. She will be working on maintaining cyber security systems and software, creating data analytics/metrics, and much much more! While we will miss her we are so excited for her to have this opportunity and can't wait to hear all about her experience when she returns in the fall!

"It is a really fun camp that lets kids learn a lot of technical skills that are involved in creating a video game and then use their creativity to make a fun and interesting game out of those skills. It is always fun to watch the students try and beat each other's games on the final day of camp when we have all of the finished products." - Ethan
Our Tech Lead Victoria's favorite camp is Cyber Agent: Protect Your Community with Cyber Security. During this camp students will learn how to be safe online, protect their data from various attacks, analyze threats, and protect data not just for themselves, but for their communities. Our Tech Lead Nigel is most looking forward to our Creative Lab: 3D Printing and Design camp. This camp is dedicated to exploring the ins-and-outs of one of the most interesting areas in tech. Throughout the week campers will get to design & print their own creations. " I believe this camp will be fun with its early introduction to Rapid Prototyping." - Nigel
iCode Boise will be offering this camp June 20th-24th, July 18th-22nd, and August 8th-12th this summer for ages 11-14.
With camps starting next Wednesday we thought we would take some time this week to introduce our instructors and share with you what camps they are most looking forward to this summer. Today we'd like to highlight our Tech Lead Bryton. Bryton is most looking forward to instructing our To Infinity and Beyond: Engineering Journey Through Space. During this camp, students will gain problem-solving skills with many hands-on activities such as simulating the galaxy formation with slime, building their own Mars rover, or 3D design a new type of spacecraft. iCode Boise will be offering this camp June 6th-10th, July 11th-15th, and August 1st-5th for ages 6-10 this summer.

Where is our Tech Lead Kyle? Kyle will be interning at Healthwise this summer in their Quality Assurance department. He will be working on manual and automated tests to catch bugs before code is put into production. While we will miss him at camps we are so thrilled for Kyle to have this opportunity.

NEW CAMP ALERT! The Texas Instruments summer camp is a 5-day deep dive into the world of python programming, robotics, and Texas Instruments! Each day, campers will explore various ways to automate Texas Instruments hardware like the TI Innovator(TM) Rover and TI Innovator(TM) Hub. Using the TI-Nspire(TM) CX-II to complete projects like coding music and image manipulation, campers will explore the fundamentals of python programming.
We will be offering this camp July 18th-22nd, July 25th-29th, and August 1st-5th for ages 11-14 this Summer.
Whether it's debugging code, test driving battle bots, or putting the finishing touches on videos, our students are hard at work this week prepping their final projects. Next week they will get to present their work and we can't wait to see what they've created!
