We hope you all had a restful Thanksgiving break! 🦃🍂

This November, ASBSU participated in
-Sustainability and Involvement Committee Gatherings to plan events for the coming semester
-The COSGA Instagram Takeover that highlighted classes and events members of ASBSU involve themselves in throughout their daily school day
-Volunteered at the Campus Food Pantry prepping Thanksgiving Meal Kits. There were 250 kits distributed to students, and 80 distributed to staff!
-Handed out candy canes and rode the horse at Boise State’s Annual Tree Lighting 🎄
-Watched the Boise State Football Team continue their season into the championship at Allegiant Stadium where they dominated UNLV!

Another great week for ASBSU members! This weeks highlights include

-Men’s first basketball games of the season (2-0!!)
-Some of our ASBSU members hanging out in the office pre joint-meeting
-Our VP and AVPFA ran for Phi Mu’s miracle makers helping them raise money for Children’s Miracle Center
-Mayoral Election Voting- many of our members first time voting!
-Our President & VP supporting Phi Mu’s “Wear with Love Panhellenic Merch Sale”
-Ate delicious food at the 43rd International Food, Song, and Dance Festival- an ASBSU funded event!
-ASBSU members preparing for law school at the Pre-Law society dinner- also ASBSU funded!
-And as always, our Thursday joint meetings!

Boise State Phi Mu is having their fall philanthropy week! If you can, please donate to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. These children’s hospitals are on the front lines of preventing disease and injury through research, education, and outreach programs that keep millions of kids out of the hospital each year. Donations help support CMNH’s Mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible. Please consider donating and thank you!

Hi y'all, I'm Chey, and am serving as your Student Body President. I am a senior in Civil Engineering, minor in Environmental Studies, and certificates in French, Korean, and American Sign Language. I grew up in Eastern and Southern Idaho and am a very active outdoorsy person so you might find me in the Outdoor Program leading trips, reading by the river, or skiing up at Bogus. I also love reading poetry, painting, and bbqing with my friends.
I'm always looking for ways we can do better in listening to our student needs and experiences, so please reach out and/or visit our office! Our door is always open and we are happy to listen and learn from you.

Hello everyone! My name is Joe Engstrom and I am
The AVP of Financial Affairs. I will be graduating this spring with a Bachelors in Political Science with an emphasis in American Government. I also serve as the Frank Church High School Model U.N. Assistant Director, a Frank Church Ambassador, a member of the Pre-Law society, a member on a student panel for the School of Public Service, and I am working on creating both a collegiate model UN program at Boise State University and the School of Public Service Association. Additionally, I am an avid DoorDash delivery driver and a the father of a 2 year old Border Collie. When I am not working in the ASBSU office or chairing the Funding Board, you can catch me taking my dog on a walk up 8th street or finishing my homework at the last minute.

Hi everyone! I'm Kalista Barkley and I serve as the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs. I will be graduating this Spring with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, minor in Criminal Justice, and certificates in Intermediate Spanish and Applied Leadership. I serve as President of the Pre-Law Society, and am an active member of the Student Philanthropy Board. Additionally, I work as a student caller at the Alumni and Friends Center raising funds for student resources and scholarships. I love volunteering on our campus, and in the broader community. Some of my favorite things are kitties, cooking new dishes, and dressing like it's New York Fashion Week rather than a normal day.

Hey everyone! My name is Cayden Stone and I'll be serving as your ASBSU Government Relations Officer this year! I'm originally from Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and am currently studying Political and Environmental science. I'm a Pacific Northwest kid through and through and love fishing, hiking, boating, camping, and watching my beloved Seattle Sports teams (and BSU of course). I'm really looking forward to getting students involved with local and state government this year so we can continue to create a stronger and more sustainable future for Boise State and Idaho as a whole.
