Idaho Hispanic Community Center Mercado Unido event supports local vendors as Christmas approaches A two-day market at the Idaho Hispanic Center is helping local vendors and shoppers as Christmas day is nearing.

Free-back to school haircuts: CSD to host event providing free haircuts at Wilson Elementary on Friday Barbers from Boise Barber College and Level Up Barber and Beauty will cut hair at the event at Wilson Elementary on Friday, Aug. 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What do you enjoy most about barbering?

“The way I’m able to help people gain confidence with a haircut.”

What are your goals with barbering?

“To give back and help my community even if it’s just with a haircut.”

Outside of barbering what do you enjoy doing?

“I enjoy hanging out with my wife and kids, playing disc golf, and benching trains.”

What do you like most about instructing?

“Seeing other people’s confidence and skills grow.”

“Barbering specifically, I enjoy being able to give someone a haircut that can make them feel good about themselves.”

What are your goals with barbering?

“To be able to build more comfortability in regard to LGBTQIA+ spaces in the area around barbering.”

Outside of barbering what do you enjoy doing?

“Hanging out with Maggie cats, friends, family, and making art. Reading and out doors, along with fashion.”

“Interacting with people and making them feel good.”

What are your goals with barbering?

“Become an instructor and set new standards for Idaho Barbering.”

Outside of barbering what do you enjoy doing?

“Music, making money, boxing, and family.”

“After graduating I realized how much the school affected my mood and outlook on life. They inspired me to take myself and this industry seriously. I wanted to come back and be apart of the environment and try to inspire others like me who just got into it for fun and help them realize their potential as a barber/barber stylist and as a person”
