Hello Friends;
I am sorry I have been away, I suffered a fall and a pretty concussion, so I have been attending to my own health. I do think of you everyday though, as we go through this interesting and stressful time of year. I struggle with my own thoughts and various things this time of year and it may be that you do as well. If so, let me tell you - YOU are not alone! I spent many years feeling that way, (in my depression, anxiety, and issues I felt if I stuffed down deep enough, I would be OK) and want others to not walk that road alone. You are the most important person in your YOUniverse, but you are not alone. A new year thought I am trying, is upping my journal duties. I write all the time, have since I was younger, however, this year I want it to be more than just what I had for meals, dumb stuff I wasted my time watching on a tv or computer, etc. I want to learn new skills, read books, take hikes, and be proud of the work that I am doing to help you, and write something that is useful to me as I move forward (to continue to learn from). I began this section of my journey to help others make sense of their thoughts and ideas and dreams - that, well may not settle well when you talk to others about them. I want to grow up (yes, even at 51 I have dreams of growing up someday LOL) and become a Maker - a Master Tinkerer, Gizmologist Supreme, Junkaneer Extra-Ordinary, what ever name you call it. It is bizarre, to most, but still a dream of mine. The dream of a quite (and quiet) ordinary steampunk Lady, who also dreams of helping others, like yourself, remove yourselves from the steamer trunks we have packed ourselves into because society says we must fit a specific mold.
Now, I write to you, my Friend, during this time of year. Whether you are overwhelmed by it all, or whether you absorb it like a sponge and wish for more; it is your destiny to evolve and become the absolute best you that you can possibly be.
New Year goals have a way of fizzling. Here is a small challenge for all of us: Chose something small that you can piggy back onto an already existing habit. Make it S.M.A.R.T : Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time frame.
I have several tiny ones.
1. I already write in my journal - I will add gratitude/reflection section to it.
2. I already brush my teeth and wash my face, etc.. - I will add drinking a large cup of water every time I am in the bathroom to improve hydration. (Especially first thing in the morning before everything else, to get my organs running healthy)
3. I already eat breakfast - I will add reading something positive, or listening to a motivational podcast.
People tell me people do not like reading long posts. However, I do hope you have read this. I also hope you have a wonderful new year and that we can be in touch more in the following weeks ahead. Feel free to contact me.
