Pre and postnatal personal trainer I am a certified personal trainer specializing in pre and postnatal fitness, core strength, and pregnancy safe workouts.

I LOVE working with mothers and think that our mothering years are the best time to start new habits and become awesome role models to our children. I also know that you can feel better and sexier in your after baby body than you did before, and I can help get you there!

Focus on getting good nutrients, not how many calories you are eating. The obsession with calorie counting is not the path to sustained weight loss and/or health. Learning to choose nutrient dense foods regardless of their calorie content is not only a necessary skill set to pass onto our children, but one that will break our unhealthy relationship with food and dieting. Density over dieting!! 💪💪

My husband told me something a while ago that has stuck with me. “Let go of the things you can’t control and concentrate on those you can”. Conception, pregnancy, and birth are the beginning of parenthood, and by that I mean we begin to realize how little control we have 😂😭. My midwife asked me what my birth plan was, and honestly I hadn’t even thought about it. I was busy doing the things I could control to the best of my ability-eating well, exercising, keeping my stress low. So I ended up answering “I want the baby inside of me to come out” 😂. A few weeks later I found out that my babe was breach and I decided to have a C section. As someone who did a vaginal unmedicated birth the first time around, scheduling a surgery to birth my next baby was quite a change. But I thought back to the answer I gave my midwife, and realized that, even though this was a totally different experience than I had envisioned it accomplished my “birth plan”. And more than that, I had prepped my body and my babies body with exercise/good diet to be strong and resilient no matter what type of birth we were destined to have. The C section recovery was the hardest physical thing I have had to do (including my first birth!) but by golly if my body didn’t exceed my expectations by healing quickly and well, thanks to my good health, and Miss Arwen is thriving. I controlled the things I could and was able to let go of those I couldn’t, and if that isn’t a good lesson in parenthood and life then I don’t know what is. ❤️

My fellow exercise professional Albert Lu is putting on this awesome course to keep you running pain free. Learning proper technique (even if you’ve been running for a while!) is how you keep active doing what you love to do, I highly recommend Albert in guiding you to pain free running!

A shout out to Katie who is a childbirth educator and recently got her certification to be a pre and postnatal dietary coach! I had many debilitating aversions (as in all food 😂) and Katie helped me to think of creative ideas to pack as much nutrients into the foods I could bare to swallow. She was also a understanding ear and a pool of knowledge when it came to safe and unsafe things to eat during pregnancy. I include her trimester by trimester recipes in my custom programs because nutrition is SO important during pregnancy. For anyone needing extra support with their diet during pregnancy I highly recommend Katie, and she is available remotely so anyone can reap the benefits of her service!

Birth is a wild ride, for both mama and baby. Something that’s really stuck with me from my training was something my teacher said “people train for months to run a marathon and sometimes not at all for birth which can be 5X+ longer and more rigorous.” After birth we want to have the energy to interact with our new baby and the capacity to start healing right away. Not only that, but if baby has been exposed to exercise in utero they have become used to movement and squeezes, and felt their moms body work and strain, which is not the same, but similar to birth!

Ps, this is my little Harriet the day after she was born, still covered in a little gore, but cuuuute none the less!

Full disclosure, these kind words are from my aunt Linda, but she knows her stuff! Thanks I very much feel as though I have found my calling, it must run in the family!
