is looking for a coach for our upcoming Girls on the Run season!!!

94% of GOTR coaches said they felt like they were making a difference in the lives of girls on their team. In order to enter the future with confidence, girls need leaders they can follow, and that’s where GOTR coaches step in. Be this mentor to a girl in your neighborhood – her life (and yours!) will permanently be enhanced by it. That’s a guarantee.

Behind every CDSA teacher is a family!!! We are lucky that over a dozen staff member children attend CDSA for their own school with their parent!!! (And many many more who have attended and moved on to higher places)!!!!
Sometimes this is challenging for planning, meetings, and executing tasks… but watching our staff and their children LOVE where they work and LOVE where they go to school, is beyond any Christmas dream!!!

Today was our band and percussion holiday concert!!!
Students in 4th and 5th grade have the choice to join and play an instrument in our band program!

Some of these students just began playing this year, and others have been playing for over a year already!!!

Way to go to Mrs. Gerritson and Mrs. C for the dedication to teach our students these skills!

We can not wait to share our Saturday morning with all of our families tomorrow!!!
Santa is in route from the North Pole!!!

We have Donuts, Coffee, and Milk! Pictures with Santa, crafts, letters to Santa station, and even a story teller!!!

Students learned about LINE, SHAPE, and COLOR after studying The Wave 🌊 by Hokusai.

The principle of MOVEMENT was taught through the use of TEMPLATES which students traced to create the bodies of Koi fish in a pond using a BIRD’S 👁️ EYE or ARIAL perspective.

Students looked 👀 at videos of real Koi fish and created 🖊️ their own tracing, erasing, and coloring the fish after adding details like fins and spots.

🎨 Watercolor was WASHED over the surface showing a WAX RESIST artwork! 🖼️

Today was the orchestra performance!
All of the CDSA 4th and 5th graders who have been in orchestra this year came together to perform for the students, staff, and parents!!!

We are so thankful for the passion and instruction that Mrs. C has provided the students of Christine Donnell this year!

The artwork of students from 5 classrooms are benefiting our community!!

These 5 wreaths are headed to the Saint Alphonsus Festival of Trees!! Each one is created with the art work of students from Mrs. MacDonald’s, Mr.Bishop, Mrs. Nix, Mrs. Peltier, and Mrs. McMurtrey’s classes!!!

They will be on display with many other pieces of holiday art displayed on wreaths and trees over the next week, and each one is available to purchase from the festival to benefit the Cancer Institute!!
