Cynthia Mann Elementary PTO

Our first PTO meeting of the school year is next Thursday, 9/5 at 3:30pm in the library. We are an inclusive group that values differing perspectives and ideas; all parents and staff are welcome to participate! This month we’ll be discussing Color Run, Monster Mash, and beginning-of-the-year business.

Our Mission: We are a volunteer group of parents, teachers and staff who support and celebrate the success, diversity, well-being and equal opportunity of the students at Cynthia Mann Elementary. We serve to facilitate communication and cooperation between families and the school, sponsor fun events and provide financial support to classrooms.

Opportunities include:
-Stapling pledge packets
-Loaning pop-up tent
-Set up
-Running a table for shirt sales, pizza sales, and/or wristbands
-Tallying laps during race
-Spraying kids with color
-Clean up

Welcome to the new school year! It's been so wonderful seeing your faces back on campus again. We as a PTO are planning another eventful year and our hope is to have many helping hands each taking on small tasks to create big results together.

Tomorrow is our kindergarten family picnic! Any families with an incoming kindergartener are invited to attend on Monday, 8/12 from 5-7pm at Catalpa Park. It’s so nice to have some familiar faces on the first day of school! Bring your own food, drinks, and any seating.

Hello Cynthia Mann families! We hope you're all having a great summer. It's hard to believe but school starts in just over a month now!

For those with incoming kindergartners, your families are all welcome at a picnic at Catalpa Park on Monday, August 12 from 5-7pm. It’s so nice to have some familiar faces on the first day of school! Bring your own food, drinks, and any seating.

If you know any incoming kindergarteners, please spread the word.

What a spring carnival we had! Our young Olympics showed courage and grit completing their challenges and their awards were well deserved. 🏆 Thank you so much to all those who came and made it a fun night! We are grateful to all those who volunteered their time, brought a baked good, contributed to the auction and/or raffle - so many people working behind the scenes to ensure everyone had fun! And shout out to the Scouts and for making an awesome obstacle course! What a great community we have!

Our Spring Carnival on Thursday, 5/16 is coming quickly and we need your help! We have volunteer positions and an opportunity to bring baked goods for the dessert walk. Especially if you have upper elementary kids who may need less parental involvement, we'd really appreciate an hour of your time to help ensure the carnival is a fun and safe event for our community.

We need help to make this a safe and fun event for all!

We have junior high students running the stations but we are in need of parent volunteers to:

-oversee the student volunteers
-set up and clean up
-work at the raffle and silent auction tables
-pass out medal prizes

It's our last meeting of the school year! (say what?!) Join us in the library this Thursday, 5/2 at 3:30pm to discuss board positions for the 24-25 school year, the 24-25 budget, the spring carnival, and teacher requests.

Let's show teachers and staff how much we care about them and thank them for the ways they show up for our community each day! Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10. Here are all the details, as well as a sign-up link for Friday:

MONDAY — Write or draw a compliment card for teacher
There will be cards and hearts out at recess for students to fill out for a teacher or staff member. Students are also welcome make their own cards (a drawing, a word or a short note) at home for their teachers and/or campus staff.

TUESDAY — Taco Tuesday
Lunch from Cafe Rio will be provided for teachers and staff with PTO funds, thanks to our amazing community over this school year.

WEDNESDAY — Students, how can you show your appreciation?
Students choice! Get creative, what can you do to share your appreciation for your teacher? (Flowers, candy, sharing a story/memory/impact they’ve had, classroom supplies, a book, extra helpful in class, etc)

THURSDAY — Coffee is on us!
Slow River Coffee truck back on campus to provide gourmet coffees to order for teachers and staff members, parents may volunteer to help deliver coffee.

FRIDAY — Sweet treats for sweet teachers
A great way to end the week of appreciation! Parents/Families may volunteer to bring a dish to contribute to a dessert bar in the teacher lounge.
