Take home some free sagebrush seedlings this Friday, April 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Foothills Learning Center!
📢 Add native sagebrush to your yard or garden for FREE! Every year, Boise Parks and Recreation’s Open Space Division collects sagebrush seed from specific open space reserves. The seed is taken to Lucky Peak Federal Nursery, cleaned, and grown out into seedlings that are planted for restoration. Lucky Peak Nursery always grows more seedlings than are requested to ensure they can fulfill orders and this year - we have a surplus! This Friday, April 12 stop by the Jim Hall Foothills Learning Center (3188 Sunset Peak Road) between 3 and 5 p.m. to pick up a bundle of 10 sagebrush seedlings to take and plant at home. Please note, these seedlings will need to be planted into areas with irrigation or where they can receive supplemental water as spring temperatures rise.

Two days till we get to take you on the brand new accessible trail in Hull’s Gulch Reserve as part of Hikes + Hops! Come learn about the work being done by Ridge to Rivers, Boise Parks and Recreation, and the City of Boise to make our foothills accessible to everyone. Then enjoy a beverage from Mother Earth Brewing Company in the Foothills Learning Center backyard!
