What a summer at SLA! ☀️📚✨
Our students grew in confidence, built their reading stamina, and formed meaningful connections with new friends and teachers. They showed up, showed out, and sparked their learning every step of the way!

Today, we wrapped it all up with a well-deserved day of fun to celebrate their hard work and success. Way to go, SLA scholars!

To all our amazing SLA students: I am so proud of each one of you for your commitment to growing as readers! Enjoy the rest of your summer—I can’t wait to see you around the community and hear about all the great things you’re doing back at your home schools.

Ms. Johnston and Ms. Riordan's class had a fantastic last few days! The students have worked incredibly hard this summer, and we’re so proud of their efforts.

On Tuesday, they celebrated with a visit to the gaming truck, participated in exciting classroom challenges, and enjoyed an engaging presentation from the Wildlife Geeks.

As we head into the break, don’t forget to keep the momentum going—encourage your child to keep reading over the summer!

Family Fun Night was a huge success! 🍕🎬🍿🍧
Families came together for an evening full of laughter, connection, and fun—complete with pizza, a movie, popcorn, and delicious snocones from Carolina Gourmet Snocones. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the night so special!

To celebrate our success at SLA, we hosted an educational fun day filled with exciting experiences and special guests! 🎉📚🎮🐍

Students enjoyed interactive reading games in the Rolling Video Games truck, explored amazing animals—including creepy crawlers, slithering snakes, and furry friends—thanks to Wildlife Geeks, and dove into stories with GG’s Library, who brought a pop-up bookstore right to us!

It was a day full of learning, laughter, and celebration—and a perfect way to honor our hard work and accomplishments!
