One thing about me... I'm always coming up with ideas. A great characteristics to have as a pediatric COTA! Having to think outside the box , learning to adjust and adapt. One major goal I have in life is to make the world a better place. Be there for the ones who find it hard to do it alone or those who just need a little push in the right direction. I want to HELP,not because of the recognition but because it's my purpose!

Let me help you with the services that I provide!

Why is this child sitting on a wobble seat while stacking blocks?

What may look like a simple play activity is actually supporting so many important developmental skills!

The wobble seat provides gentle movement and an opportunity for the child to work on core strength, balance, body awareness, and postural control while staying engaged in the activity. For some children, movement can also help them maintain attention and feel more regulated and ready to learn.

And then there’s the block stacking!

To successfully stack blocks, a child is developing and practicing:

✨ Fine motor skills – grasping, releasing, and positioning each block

✨ Hand-eye coordination – using their eyes to guide their hands

✨ Visual-spatial skills – understanding where objects are in relation to one another

✨ Motor planning – figuring out how to place one block on top of another

✨ Bilateral coordination – using both hands together when needed

✨ Precision and control – adjusting movements so the blocks stay balanced

✨ Problem-solving skills – figuring out what works when the tower falls

✨ Attention and persistence – staying with a task and trying again

✨ Cause and effect – learning that how they place a block affects what happens next

What looks like nothing to you works on ALL of this. There is a method to our madness!

Stacking blocks is so much more than building a tower. It lays a foundation for skills children will use later for writing, dressing, using utensils, playing, building, and completing everyday tasks independently.

So when you see a child wobbling, stacking, knocking down, and trying again—know that learning is happening through every movement and every block! ❤️🧱

A simple, hands-on activity with so many learning opportunities! 🔤✨

All it took was a dry-erase board, a marker, and a vision! This activity works on letter recognition, alphabet sequencing, and visual scanning while keeping learning fun and engaging.

Sometimes the simplest activities can create the biggest learning moments! 💛

Just a little pre-writing with some sensory play! ✍️🫶 Two goals being worked on at the same time!

He may not have completed the writing portion, but he did exactly what he needed to do with the sensory play—and that’s a win in my book! 💙

Me, on the other hand… you can probably SEE and HEAR my discomfort. 😂🫤 My OT struggle is definitely TACTILE SENSORY PLAY! 😬

But for these kids? I’ll be brave! 😂 Because sometimes supporting them means stepping WAY outside of our own comfort zones.

We’ve got this! 🥰✨

Obstacle Course? More like Awesome Course!!!!

While it looks like we're just having fun (and we definitely are), this obstacle course is secretly packed with OT magic:

🤸🏼‍♀️ Proprioceptive input
↪️Following directions
🫶🏽 Bilateral coordination
💪🏽 Upper body strength
🧠 Motor planning

Every jump, crawl, and push is helping build skills that carry over into everyday life. The best therapy often looks just like play
I'm not afraid of a hard day of play!

🧩 Matching Games or Memory Games?

Matching Games: Builds visual discrimination and confidence.

Memory Games: Strengthens attention and recall.

Bonus:
The therapist may forget where they put their pen... but the child remembers every matching card. 😂

I can't tell you how many times a student has beat me in a game of Memory . Can you say embarrassing LOL
