Wonderful start to our week here at ACC Extension.

Sunday we had the privilege of working with Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital on their Pink Party with a Purpose raising awareness for breast cancer.

Today The Center at ACCA had their re-branding open house today. We passed out our fruit infused water and promoted our My Healthy Kitchen Series. We are so glad to partner with such an amazing community organization.

Here's what's been happening in Family and Consumer Sciences in Athens-Clarke County the past 2 weeks.

5 local food service workers passed the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification exam.

24 people completed our 8-week Get Fresh program. $10,000 in local fresh produce was distributed to our program participants.

200 University of Georgia Freshman in the FACS 2000 class learned about Cooperative Extension and the role that Family and Consumer Sciences plays in improving the well-being of our community.

23 members of the Athens Community Council on Aging learned about limiting the amount of sodium in our diets and how to improve their mental wellness.

300 individuals stopped by our Drink Water, Georgia table at the Athens Water Festival. Participants sampled cucumber and lemon infused water and learned about the importance of hydration.
