Toe cracks in this central area are nearly exclusively a result of long toes forward of the natural breakover point!

This right front hoof has white line disease and the outer wall of the infected area was removed and a scarlet ointment was applied! It is a preference of mine to call this termite disease rather than white line.

At first glance, the hairline on the right front foot looks absolutely gorgeous! Then consider the fact that the toe appears a bit long and a little bit forward of the position of a natural hoof! A close inspection of the hairline in toe area will reveal the flat area
in the center portion of the hoof wall because of loading caused by the concussive forces!

Hoof in trouble! The whole capsule is dragging forward! Natural hooves are back beneath the leg so they can grow down and not be stretched forward.

Learn to stand to the side of a horse with your "soft eyes" and visualize where the "post" (the post like structure of the leg) is descending toward the ground and then visually trace the outline of the toe area of the hoof capsule.
