Flight Camp is Almost Here! 🦅

The countdown is on! We can't wait to welcome our Voss Eagles back for Flight Camp on Wednesday, August 6!

Flight Camp is your opportunity to pick up class schedules, buy spirit wear from our amazing PTO, tour the building, connect with staff and classmates, and kick off an amazing new school year!

We look forward to seeing all of our students and families as we prepare for another fantastic year at Voss Middle School!

The BISD orchestra instructors will be holding an Orchestra Camp! All interested orchestra students are invited to attend.

Parents and guardians: the deadline to purchase PE and athletic uniforms is July 12th! Be sure to place your order before the deadline so your student is ready for the start of the school year.

Please join us in welcoming Nurse Angela Kontor to the Voss family!

A native Houstonian, she attended San Jacinto College and the University of Houston and brings 30 years of nursing experience to Voss, including 15 years dedicated to school nursing. Her passion for caring for students and supporting their well-being has made school nursing a true calling.

Outside of work, she is a proud mom of two sons and enjoys spending time with her grand-dog and three beloved fur babies. In her free time, she loves hiking, fishing, relaxing by the river, working out, attending college sporting events and live music performances, and helping care for her family’s ranch.

Nurse Kontor is excited to join the Voss Middle School community and looks forward to building relationships with students, staff, and families while sharing her passion for school nursing! Welcome to VMS!

P.E. and Athletic uniforms are now on sale! Please note: P.E. and Athletics will be using the same uniforms. If you have previously purchased VMS uniforms, you are not required to buy the new ones.

All students planning to play a sport must complete the forms in Rank One and have a current physical. Physical forms may be emailed to the addresses shown in the graphic. All athletes are encouraged to participate in BISD summer camps and strengthening and conditioning programs.

Please join us in welcoming Mr. John Lopez back to Voss Middle School! Mr. Lopez will be joining our Special Education Department.

Mr. Lopez is a graduate of The University of Texas at San Antonio, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in English, and he also holds a Master’s in Business. Before entering education, he proudly served five years in the U.S. Navy as a medic at the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.

Outside of school, Mr. Lopez enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and their dog and cat. He’s an avid reader, a passionate sports fan, and loves watching movies.

Mr. Lopez is looking forward to another amazing year at Voss and is excited to continue building relationships with our students and families. We’re so glad to have him back for another great year!

Please join us in welcoming our newest staff member, Ms. Christene Harms, to the Voss family! Ms. Harms will be teaching math!

Originally from San Antonio, Ms. Harms earned her Master’s in Education from UTSA and brings 23 years of experience in education to our campus.

When she’s not at school, she enjoys spending time with her three amazing boys (plus their boy dog), embracing every moment of being a proud boy mom. She also loves reading, hiking, and exploring the outdoors with her family.

She is excited to become part of the incredible team at Voss, and we are thrilled to have her join our school community. Welcome to Voss!
