Today is the last day of “maternity leave” I gave myself 😆. I have it in quotes because really it was just an excuse to lay on the couch for 3 weeks with a baby on my chest while Dylan has actual paternity leave and can do all the dishes 🤣. This first month has been BUH-LISS, and I’ve been soaking it all up because I know reality is coming! Dylan is a CPA (nerd! 🤓) and starts working tax season hours next week. We are so thankful for his job and that it allowed him to even take this past month off! And let’s be honest- homeboy needs to go back to work. He’s going stir crazy. Yesterday he cleaned out the junk cabinet above the microwave like he’s or something. ⠀

Alright so mamas of litters- gimme all your best tips! How do I leave the house? 😅 best strategy for preschool drop off? I wanna hear any routines or rhythms and genius hacks you know that make mothering a pack of little wolf puppies easier! ⠀

How do I even begin to summarize these past 5 days? I’ll have to write up a whole blog post or something, just to get all my thoughts out and have something to read over and over again! For now, here are just a teensy few of my favorite photos.

Oh and I guess I need to make an official announcement! Meet Samson Kaden Boss, born New Years Eve at 12:31pm, weighing in at 6lbs 9oz. Samson means child of the sun/light. Kaden, his given name by his brave first parents, means spirit of battle. Y’all can call him Son for short 😎

MAAAAADEWELLLLL. Madewell! Y’all! My favorite store asked if I’d like to partner with them this weekend for a fun shopping event! When I got that email, I was like ‘😱 I didn’t even think they knew I existed!’ is seriously my all time FAVE- like seriously this whole outfit is from there. I will never ever buy jeans from anywhere else. I could not be any more excited!⠀

Tried to take an artsy photo of our completed adoption paperwork, but this really doesn’t even look that thick or impressive 😂 but it does represent six months of collecting all the things we need to officially be a “waiting family” and start being shown to expectant mamas considering adoption!⠀

I mean we are talking home study reports, hand signed letters of recommendation, original birth and marriage certificates, drug and TB tests, fingerprinting appointments, physical exams, background checks and clearances, detailed questionnaires, agency applications, so many boring copies, a gorgeous profile book designed by Kindred + Co. and more. 😅⠀

Sticking this tiny packet in the mail today felt so huge, and we are so excited to finally really get this adventure started! We have no idea what God has in store, but we are honored and humbled to be part of this story. ❤️ ⠀
