On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first humans to ever step foot on the Moon. For the next 3 years in the Apollo program, a total of 12 Americans had the honor to leave footprints on the Moon. Since then, no humans have returned. However, NASA plans to send humans back to the Moon through the Artemis program by the year 2024. The excitement begins again!

Happy Summer Solstice!

If you're reading this in the Northern Hemisphere then welcome to the longest day of the year. The summer solstice marks the astronomical point where during Earth’s orbit the North Pole is at its maximum tilt towards the Sun, which is traveling along its northernmost path in the sky. As a result of the longer trip, it makes Earth’s hours of sunlight the longest day and shortest night of the year. One of the most famous places to watch the longest day dawn is the 5,000-year-old Stonehenge in England, where celebrators gather to watch the Sun come up through the ancient stones, which are oriented perfectly in the direction of the sunrise on the summer solstice.
