Many students measure their worth by their grades and to-do lists, but we believe everyone is so much more than numbers and tasks. Our goal is to help students develop skills that make school feel manageable and boost their confidence in their true value.
Have you seen your own child struggle to separate their performance from their identity? What worked best for you during those difficult moments? Let's talk about it.

Summer can be a great time to strengthen executive functioning skills without the pressure and pace of the school year.
Executive functioning coaching isn’t about pushing students to work harder—it’s about helping them build the internal tools and systems that make hard work feel more manageable and less overwhelming.
Through individualized support, students can strengthen skills like:
• planning and organization
• time management
• task initiation
• emotional regulation
• follow-through and independence
The goal isn’t perfection—it’s helping students head into the next school year feeling more capable, confident, and prepared.
If you’re wondering whether executive functioning coaching could help your child, we’d love to talk with you.

The end of the school year can leave many students feeling defeated.
Missing assignments.
An abandoned planner.
Constant overwhelm.
Confidence is slowly slipping away.
Often, it’s not because they aren’t trying.
It’s because they haven’t yet been taught how to manage all the moving parts of school.
That’s one reason summer can be such a valuable time to build systems before a new school year begins.
Recently, we worked with a middle school student who felt exactly this way. Instead of trying to fix everything at once, we focused on a few manageable supports:
• a simple weekly planning routine
• a backpack organization system that actually worked for them
• a clearer after-school structure
Little by little, things started to feel more manageable.
Assignments were getting turned in more consistently.
The student had a clearer place to start.
And confidence began to return.
Executive functioning skills don’t just support academics.
They help students feel capable again.
If you would like to discuss how we can help your child build these systems this summer,

Is it just a "tough week," or is it a persistent hurdle?
While every student has "off" days, executive function challenges show up as steady patterns that don't seem to improve with standard reminders.
If homework battles are a daily reality or if emotional overwhelm is constantly blocking their path, it’s often not a lack of effort—it's a sign that they need a different set of tools. Recognizing the pattern is the first step toward building a roadmap that works.

Summer can be a great time to rebuild confidence—especially for students who spent the school year feeling defined by grades, missing assignments, or constant stress.
At Striving for Thriving Kids, we believe students are so much more than report cards and to-do lists. Our goal is to help kids build skills, confidence, and self-awareness so school feels more manageable when they head back in the fall.
Sometimes the most important growth happens outside the classroom:
☀️ Learning routines
☀️ Building independence
☀️ Practicing organization and planning
☀️ Rediscovering confidence after a hard school year
Have you ever noticed your child tying their self-worth to school performance? What helped them most during difficult seasons? We’d love to hear from you.

“They’ll grow out of it.”
Many parents hear this when their child struggles with things like:
1. Forgotten assignments
2. Lost papers that never make it home
3. Chronic procrastination on every project
4. Total overwhelm by school
And sometimes kids do mature with time.
But executive functioning skills like planning, organization, and getting started on tasks usually don’t just appear as students get older.
They’re skills that need to be taught and practiced.
Without support, many very capable students continue to feel like they are constantly playing catch-up.
It’s not a motivation problem.
It’s often a skill gap.
When students learn systems that work with their brain, school can start to feel more manageable — and confidence begins to grow.
