WEATHER UPDATE: January 20 at 12:00 p.m.
Dear BISD Families, Staff, and Community,

Based on guidance from the National Weather Service and emergency management officials in anticipation of winter weather impacting our region, Boerne ISD schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 21.

All athletic, fine arts, after school programs, and activities will be canceled on Tuesday.
The BISD Regular January Board Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 21 will be postponed until Monday, January 27.

The BISD school calendar has instructional minutes built into the calendar to account for bad weather. This day will not need to be made up.

While schools and offices are expected to reopen at their regularly scheduled time on Wednesday, January 22, we will continue to monitor the impacts to our area. Please monitor BISD website, text updates, social media, emails, and local media for updates.

Boerne ISD nurses are phenomenal! While everyone is celebrating with cookies, cakes, & carols, they are in their clinics battling cooties and caring for our kids! Student Support Services hopped in their sleigh and delivered breakfast and gifts to our nurses all across the district. Our nurses are definitely on the nice list this year! ❤️💚

Cibolocreek Community Church’s small groups donated 2700 pounds of food to Boerne ISD this morning. This is a tremendous donation that will impact almost 80 families needing a blessing this December. We are incredibly grateful for this partnership.

We are cheering on our students as they take to the fields tomorrow and Sunday. They have shown great character, courage, and skill as they battle for the title. We are SO proud!

We are excited to see our Boerne ISD students and their families tomorrow for the first day of school. Remember to bring your school supplies, your smiles, and a pocketful of patience in the event the morning has a few challenges. Things always smooth out as everyone adjusts to new routines.

Boerne ISD counselors and nurses have been working hard to prepare for the return of our students! Not only have they been creating schedules, verifying immunizations and medical documents, planning lessons, and building resources… they have been in training to learn and grow! Their smiles are a testament to their passion for the work they do each day.

Love Kendall County Kids hosted Boerne ISD counselors, nurses and counseling secretaries for breakfast this morning. They shared information about the incredible assistance they provide in our community and allowed our staff to tour their facility. It was a great way to start the day!

Back-to-school means back to learning in the classroom, engaging with our classmates, and participating in activities that enrich our lives like clubs, fine arts, and athletics. This year, make sure cell phone habits don’t impede on your opportunities to be engaged, enriched, and inspired in Boerne ISD. Create good habits from day one!

Monday, August 12, is the first day of school in Boerne ISD. Practice your back to school routine this upcoming week. Establish a bedtime schedule, try waking up with an alarm clock, and fuel up for learning with nutritious meals and snacks!

Boerne ISD nurses are returning to their campuses and they are gearing up for the start of school. Before August 12, make sure your child’s immunizations or exemptions are on file, any prescription documents are current, and medical action plans are ready for day one!

It’s time to check your child’s vaccination or immunization exemption documents. State law requires schools to have current immunizations or an exemption affidavit on file for every student on the first day of school. If you have questions, please call your child’s school nurse beginning August 1.
