What’s Happening in the Lab & Clinic:
January Wednesday Class First Impressions: Students are currently mastering the art of taking alginate impressions and pouring up study models to create a perfect replica of a patient's smile.
The Crown Process: We are breaking down the complex steps of crown preparation, from initial impressions to crafting and fitting the temporary crown that protects the tooth.
Real-World Experience: The most exciting part? One of our students just shared their experience assisting on an extraction for the first time while on their externship!
Assisting an Extraction While Training? 😱
Yes! Because our program is so hands-on, our students don't just watch—they do. Assisting on an extraction involves:
Preparation: Setting up the surgical tray with the correct elevators and forceps.
Aspiration: Mastering high-volume evacuation to keep the site clear for the dentist.
Patient Support: Learning how to monitor the patient and provide post-operative instructions.
Doing this while still in training is a massive confidence booster and shows exactly why dental offices love hiring our graduates!

Isolation Expertise: Learning the precision required for placing a rubber dam to ensure a sterile work area.
Patient Comfort: Practicing the proper application of topical anesthetic and perfecting the mouth rinse technique.
The Art of Assisting: Mastering the HVE (High Volume Evacuation) to keep the site clear and learning professional flossing techniques.
