Florida Atlantic and the Palm Beach Pops will usher in the holiday season with a “Holiday Spectacular,” a special concert featuring singer, actress and Broadway star Katharine McPhee and four-time Top 10 Billboard jazz artist Tony DeSare on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. in the Carole and Barry Kaye Auditorium.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters student scholarships and Bob Lappin and the Palm Beach Pops Memorial Endowment.

Florida Atlantic University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science has received a grant from the Gulf of America Division of the U.S. EPA to develop an innovative, artificial intelligence-guided technology that removes excess phosphorus from freshwater systems, helping prevent harmful algal blooms before they form.
Using Lake Okeechobee as a real-world testbed, the team aims to improve water quality while developing a scalable, reusable technology that can help restore lakes and watersheds across the U.S. and around the world.

Developed with input from faculty, staff, students, trustees, and community members, 2031FAU: Where Tomorrow Begins serves as a roadmap for continued growth and impact across South Florida and beyond.
