It was a great Roots and Wings afternoon at JC Mitchell Elementary. We showed up to show off our Project UpLift Literacy Program to friends new and old.

Our mission is to support and encourage children’s reading skills and teachers who inspire learning.

AND we believe seeing is believing!

Project UpLift is our free small-group afterschool tutorial program providing remedial reading instruction to Title One elementary school students, taught by certified teachers in their home school who know them best!

We want to thank all who support our program with their donations, because your donations help us expand this program to more additional schools in Palm Beach County where students need this additional support. It even helps us add more classes at our existing 24 schools!

✨ Roots and Wings is getting excited for another year of our Above and Beyond Awards! ✨

We recently had the pleasure of delivering a plaque to Allamanda Elementary School showcasing their 2025–2026 Above and Beyond Award winners. What a joy it is to celebrate the incredible educators and staff members who go above and beyond every day for their students, their schools, and our community! 💙💚

Each year, Roots and Wings’ Above and Beyond Awards give school faculty and staff the opportunity to recognize their own colleagues who make an exceptional difference. Five deserving individuals at each of our partner schools are selected by their peers and celebrated for the dedication, compassion, and commitment they bring to their school communities.

With this year's celebrations just around the corner, we can't wait to recognize a new group of extraordinary educators and staff members who truly embody what it means to go Above and Beyond! 🌟

💙 What an incredible honor for Roots and Wings! 💚

We are deeply grateful to the City of Delray Beach, Florida Government for presenting Roots and Wings with a Certificate of Recognition on a beautiful plaque honoring our commitment to childhood literacy and the educators who make a difference every day. 📚 ✨

We are especially proud of the impact Project UpLift continues to make for students in Delray Beach, providing free, small-group after-school literacy support to children who need it most. 💙

Thank you to the City Commission for this meaningful recognition, and a special thank you to Commissioner Juli Casale, pictured here with Ted, for helping us celebrate this special moment. 💚

We are so grateful to the schools, administrators, tutors, supporters, and community partners who have been part of this journey. This recognition belongs to all of you, too!
Here’s to continuing to lift up children, celebrate educators, and strengthen our community, one reader at a time! 🦋 📖

Why wait until Giving Tuesday to make a difference?

If you have a donor-advised fund, your charitable dollars are already set aside and ready to do good.

This week, on October 8, join Roots and Wings for DAF Day, a National Day of Giving created to inspire donors to put those funds to work now.

A DAF grant to Roots and Wings helps us support children who need extra help becoming successful readers and celebrate the teachers who go above and beyond for their students.

This year, make October 8 your giving day. Your funds are ready to make a difference. Let’s do this together!
