Still reminding your child to START their homework? 😩

Try this instead.

Sometimes “I don’t want to do it” isn’t laziness.

Your child may be overwhelmed, tired, distracted, or simply unsure how to begin.

Try these 3 questions:

🟢 START
“What’s one thing you can start with?”

🟢 SMALL
“How can we make the first step smaller?”

🟢 LISTEN
“What’s making it hard to begin?”

That last question can change everything.

Because if we constantly remind, fix, and rescue…

our kids can become dependent on us to get started.

The goal isn’t to get your child through tonight’s homework.

The goal is to help them become a student who can eventually say:

“I know what to do next.”

That’s student independence.

That’s coaching.

📚Before school starts, ask yourself one question…
If you stopped reminding your child every day… would they still be ready for school?

Not just academically.

I’m talking about the skills that determine whether students thrive or struggle:

✔️ Managing homework independently

✔️ Staying organized

✔️ Planning ahead

✔️ Following through without constant reminders

✔️ Taking responsibility for their own learning

Many students are intelligent.

Far fewer know how to manage school independently.

That’s why the goal isn’t to raise children who depend on reminders—it’s to help them develop the habits and confidence they’ll rely on for years to come.
