Dr. Christopher Bunick and Dr. Joel Claveau discuss Moderna and Merck's positive Phase 3 results for mRNA-based therapy in surgically resected melanoma patients.

Dr. Claveau calls it "a big change of paradigm in the treatment of cancer" and "great news for our patients."

The therapy aims to prevent melanoma recurrence following surgical resection, building on promising Phase 2 trial data.

🔬 Breakthrough in melanoma treatment!

Merck and Moderna announced positive Phase 3 INTerpath-001 trial results for personalized mRNA therapy intismeran combined with pembrolizumab in patients with completely resected stage IIB-IV melanoma.

This personalized vaccine is tailored to each patient's tumor, encoding up to 34 neoantigens to train the immune system to target cancer cells. It marks the first positive Phase 3 readout for an individualized neoantigen therapy in adjuvant melanoma.
