Wonderful to see our students helping promote history to the public. Nice work, Nick!

This past Saturday, the Boca Raton Historical Society was honored to participate in the Juneteenth celebration at Hughes Park.

Representing BRHS were our Curator, Susan Gillis, and dedicated volunteer Nick Special, who spent the afternoon sharing local history and connecting with community members during this meaningful event.

Hosted by DISC of Pearl City and community partners, the celebration brought together families and friends for an afternoon of live music, speakers, food, activities, and reflection on the significance of Juneteenth, a day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this important community gathering and to help share the rich and diverse stories that make up Boca Raton’s history.
