🌟 Student Spotlight: Fran 🌟
Fran shares her story below:
"I began my academic journey at Florida Atlantic University in 2012, pursuing a double bachelor’s degree in marketing and hospitality management. I developed a deep love for the school, its staff, and faculty members, who recognized my desire to pursue an MBA. Upon receiving my MBA in 2018, I was approached by a college of education professor who, knowing my passion for higher education, suggested that I consider pursuing a PhD.
In Fall 2021, I was thrilled to be accepted into the higher education leadership program. This new venture ignited my desire to make a meaningful impact in the postsecondary field. Since joining the program, I have actively participated in SAC, an organization for educational scholars within the college of education. In 2024, I joined the inaugural Floyd Scholar Program, where I had the privilege of being mentored by two esteemed FAU alumni who are currently serving as presidents at different institutions. Their guidance instilled in me the courage, strength, and determination to persevere and lean on my loved ones for unwavering support.
Recently, I successfully defended my proposal, and I am now focused on securing approval from IRB. My next steps involve conducting interviews to ensure a smooth transition to graduation, with the goal of completing my degree by spring 2027".
