Florida Atlantic University Foundation The Florida Atlantic University Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) direct-support organization for Florida Atlantic University.

The Florida Atlantic University Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation established in 1960, is helping to guide FAU’s growth and fine-tune its mission of promoting academic excellence, internationally recognized research and vital public-private partnerships. Gifts to FAU through the Foundation bring support to deserving students, enhance the campuses with new buildings, create exciting academic programs, attract leading scholars to the faculty and spark important collaborative relationships between the University, other leading institutions and the community. The Foundation’s Board of Directors is comprised of alumni and friends of the University who volunteer their time and expertise to spearhead fundraising efforts and manage the Foundation’s assets. The Foundation operates under the auspices of the Division of Institutional Advancement at Florida Atlantic University.

A.D. Henderson University School and Florida Atlantic University High School were ranked No. 1 both in the nation and in Florida among “Best Public K-12 Schools,” in Niche’s 2027 rankings. The recognition marks the first time that FAU Lab Schools have earned the nation’s top ranking out of the 1,903 schools evaluated across the nation by Niche, the largest website for researching public and private K-12 schools.

Florida Atlantic University and Blue Ops, a maritime division of Red Cat Holdings, Inc., have established a strategic partnership that will bring the company’s uncrewed maritime systems operations to Florida Atlantic's Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute in Fort Pierce, creating a hub for research, development, testing, training and collaboration in ocean technology, autonomous systems and national defense.

A new Florida Atlantic University study provides the first quantified evidence that free-swimming sharks can detect and respond to underwater sounds from distances extending nearly 250 feet. Using controlled low-frequency sounds and aerial drone tracking, researchers from the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science found that blacktip sharks rapidly changed course when they detected a sound, providing evidence that they can also determine its direction.

🎉 Please join us in congratulating Charles Dukes, Ed.D., Ph.D., on his appointment as Dean of the College of Education!

A member of the Florida Atlantic University community since 2002, Dean Dukes has served the College in numerous faculty and leadership roles, most recently as Interim Dean since July 2025. Throughout his career, he has been a dedicated advocate for our students, faculty and staff and a champion for educational opportunity, research and community engagement.

As Dean, he will lead the College into its next chapter, building on our commitment to preparing educators, counselors, clinicians, researchers and educational leaders while strengthening the impact of our programs, research and partnerships.

We are excited to celebrate this moment with Dean Dukes and look forward to what’s ahead for the College of Education.
