📣 Interested in the conversation around Tier 1 curriculum and explicit instruction?

Our past president recently presented a webinar for the Florida Department of Education titled:
Beyond the Teacher’s Guide: Strengthening Tier 1 Through Explicit Instruction

Many educators faithfully follow their Tier 1 literacy curriculum—yet still see students struggling to make expected progress. This session explores why, through the lens of explicit and systematic instruction.

Participants will:
✔ Clarify what explicit instruction truly means
✔ Explore examples and nonexamples
✔ Analyze how curricula align (and don’t align) with evidence-based practices

This session is not about evaluating programs—it’s about empowering educators to be critical, informed users of any curriculum.
