At CKC Seven Seeds, Kindergarten isn’t something we believe children should have to rush through.

Our 4K and Kindergarten learners share one mixed-age classroom, creating a flexible Lower & Upper Kindergarten experience where children can move through skills at their own pace. Designed as a 1–2 year program, children can advance when they’re academically, socially, and emotionally ready.

Miss Cat holds a B.S. in Psychology and brings more than a decade of experience working with children and families. Her background helps shape a classroom where emotional growth is taught just as intentionally as academics.

We help children practice emotional regulation, flexibility, independence, problem-solving, and working through frustration with supportive adults guiding them along the way.

The goal is a child who doesn’t just know more, but who has grown more confident and capable of handling the challenges that come with learning. 💛

🌈 NOW ENROLLING — PARENT & ME PRESCHOOL! 🌱

We’re so excited to open enrollment for Parent & Me Preschool with Miss Cat! 💛

Miss Cat holds a B.S. in Psychology and brings more than 10 years of experience working with children and families, with a background in early learning, behavioral support, and social-emotional development. As both an educator and homeschooling mom, she created this program around the belief that parents are their child’s first and most important teachers.

Together, little learners and their grown-ups will explore early phonics & literacy, early math, art, music & movement, SEL, outdoor learning, and plenty of play. 🌿🎨📚

And while we meet just once a week, the learning continues all week! Families receive a full week of at-home activities and learning, plus a take-home art project and access to our Moodle learning portal with book-reading videos, phonics reinforcement, and early-literacy Bob Books.

✨ We also invest in high-quality, carefully selected curriculum and materials for our youngest learners, including the Lovevery Literacy Kit, so children are learning with engaging, developmentally appropriate resources both in class and at home.

Meet Miss Danielle, our 3rd Grade & Spanish teacher at CKC Seven Seeds Blythewood! 💛

Miss Danielle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Florida International University and brings experience teaching 3rd grade and high school Spanish, along with experience as a Youth Services Librarian. She’s excited to return to the classroom and bring her love of teaching to our homeschool community!

Originally from Miami and proud of her Puerto Rican heritage, Miss Danielle brings a wonderful combination of academic experience, creativity, and cultural connection to Seven Seeds. 🇵🇷✨

And we are currently enrolling for BOTH of her classes!

📚 3rd Grade at Seven Seeds — Join our small, secular homeschool classroom for full academics, hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, and individualized instruction in a community where kids have room to learn, play, and build friendships.

🌎 Conversational Spanish — Tuesdays from 2:00–3:00 PM! A fun, engaging Spanish class focused on building real vocabulary, conversation skills, and confidence with the language. Open to outside homeschool families, too!

We’re so excited to have an experienced elementary educator leading our 3rd-grade classroom while also expanding what we can offer our homeschool community through Spanish. 🌱

🌿📚 NOW ENROLLING MISS AHJA'S FIRST GRADE📚🌿

We are so excited to introduce Miss Ahja Thomas, one of our newest educators at CKC Seven Seeds Blythewood!

Miss Ahja holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and a Science of Reading certification, bringing a strong foundation in child development, early literacy, and evidence-based reading instruction to her classroom. She also has 7 years of teaching and tutoring experience, working with children from ages 2–15.

And her connection to homeschooling runs deep! 💛 Miss Ahja is a second-generation homeschooler—she was homeschooled herself and now homeschools her own daughter. As the oldest child in a large family, her experience teaching children actually began with her own siblings.

Miss Ahja believes in meeting children exactly where they are and helping them become confident, capable learners. Her combination of professional training, classroom experience, and firsthand understanding of homeschooling makes her such a wonderful fit for the Seven Seeds approach.

Carolina Kids is paving the way forward for homeschool co-ops to become an accessible alternative to school! So proud of Jess and proud to be a CKC school ✨

We’re so excited to share that our very own CKC founder, Jess Alfreds, will be speaking at the 2026 Emerging School Models Conference at Harvard Kennedy School on September 17–18!

As school choice continues to expand, recent state legislation and the new federal scholarship tax credit program are creating new possibilities for families and education providers. Jess will join leading voices in education to discuss what these changes mean for the future of school choice and emerging school models.

The conference will bring together educators, innovators, and leaders to discuss topics including personalized learning, AI, school finance, education policy, and what it takes to scale new models while maintaining quality and access.

Stories come to life in our kindergarten class! 📚✨

To inspire the wonder of reading, we love taking stories out of the book and into real life.

First, we worked together to set the table for the yak to have a meal. Then we read about the yak eating ham, jam, and yams—a story carefully aligned with the letters and sounds our young readers already know.

After reading, each child chose what they would like to eat: ham, jam, or a yam. Then we brought literacy into writing as they practiced creating their own sentence: “I want ham.” “I want jam.” or “I want a yam.”

Reading, writing, imagination, and play all woven into one joyful lesson. 🤎

Learning should be joyful! 🌿📚 Just look at those smiles!

Our young readers brought a silly story about hats to life by creating hats of their very own. Along the way, we giggled, connected with the story, and strengthened those important little hand skills. Because some of the best learning happens when children are having too much fun to realize just how much they’re learning. 🤎
