Which life transition caught you most off guard?
For me, it was becoming an empty nester.
I quickly realized it wasn’t just about my children leaving home. So many relationships were changing at the same time.
My husband and I were finding a new rhythm together, while I was also learning how to navigate a different relationship with my children as they stepped into adulthood.
Whether they’re heading off to college, joining the military, starting a career, or simply finding their own way, there comes a point where parenting starts to look a little different.
You go from being the one who manages, guides, and fixes things… to becoming more of a mentor, sounding board, and support system.
And that transition can bring a lot of emotions with it.
