Girl Gone Quilting

It is impossible to have a bad day while quilting up an Economy Block quilt.
I’ve shared a few of my favorite blocks.

If you’ve never made economy blocks, I highly recommend giving them a try. You can fussy cut the center block and go crazy with colors and patterns. If you aren’t paper piecing I highly recommend buying the right ruler to keep your blocks uniform and trimmed during each step of the process.

Most of the economy quilts I’ve quilted lately have been from the Ruby Star block swap from Sabrina’s Swaps & Destash but I’m tempted to start pulling from my fabric stash and just see what I come up with 🥰🥰🥰

This pattern is the by and it is such a happy pattern! Trenaisa pieced this with the Raspberry Summer fabric and it’s making me ready for spring.

They will make you smile and laugh and perhaps get misty-eyed when you think of how many times you read it to your little who is now a big.
And how many times you will still read it to your littles who aren’t so big yet.

Reading to your kids is even more fulfilling than quilting 🥹

I have been cutting my scraps into 2.5in squares this year and have been making scrappy placemats. I have a vision of a cupboard full of placemats that we can use for years to come and I can reminisce over all the scraps of fabric from various projects. Can you tell I’m enjoying my 40s? 😎
They aren’t quilted yet but I did a quick set up to see if I like the size. I’ve decided I need one more row along the top so to any interested parties, these will be 10 squares across and 7 squares tall.

I’ve been working on a big stack of Grinch quilts yesterday and today and this song has been playing on repeat. 😂

I am a sucker for a spicy fabric with a lot of personalty.
I also love darling prints and scrappy quilts.
I am also terrible at remembering to take quilt photos so here are the lucky two quilts that I could find on my camera roll.
Every year I tell myself I’m going to be better about taking photos and every year I still average about 20 photos 😂🫠🤦🏽‍♀️

Watching a friend open up a quilt I’ve made for them has been the best part of quilting. It has been fun thinking about Laura throughout the whole quilting process.

I chose the Revival quilt pattern from with a ‘moody’ color scheme. Fabric pull is a variety of wovens and pure solids, backed in Minky in Wineberry.
