Bluestone Conservatory VA WV

The Bluestone Conservatory was conceived by individuals who realized the need to protect consumer's water sources. Virginia spends less than one-half of one percent of its total annual budget to fund its Department of Conservation and Recreation. Even though Virginia frequently ranks No. 1 in Forbes Magazine for business climate the ranking has been No. 50 in funds allocated for conservation. To ensure clean drinking water along the Bluestone River (Bluefield, VA) All failing septic systems and straight pipes must be identified and
replaced during implementation since a 99% - 100% load reduction
from direct and nonpoint source (NPS) human waste is required to meet
the TMDL goals. In addition, straight pipes are illegal in the
Commonwealth of Virginia. The estimated numbers of straight pipes
and failing septic systems were reported in the TMDL study and are
